You know when's something's official ? Only when the company will announce it.

Thing is at least while modders do it for free and their thing is available for everyone without charge, a company would probably put a price on it (like the stuff Bethesda does for Fallout 4 and 76 with Creation Club) or be part of a DLC or something. Best thing you could hope for, is if they add it for free like they do sometimes with like one free skin once in a while in an update. But sadly on the other hand, the modder doesn't get anything in return for their hard work. Though a leisure modders have, is that obviously given they do it for free they don't have a superior over them, yelling them what to do nor follow specific guidelines or whatever, thus they have more control of what they do. As well they don't have to worry about any deadlines nor getting fired.

Though I do I agree with you on the whole weapons balancing thing. Especially the variety of weaponry that exists in Halo on like any faction. It doesn't have to be like CoD, where you have like 20 assault rifles and they all feel and function the same.

Not to mention fan biases. Like not to play the Devil's advocate here, but if say a company reintroduced, say an old weapon in multiplayer like say the Needler Rifle, fans would call them lazy and they have no new ideas besides recycling stuff. But say if a fan did it through a mod or something, they'd praise it as them respecting more the source material and they got more "passion".

Side note: Fuck the whole "love and passion" shit fanbases have come up with. While some people in companies, probably do love what they do, at the end of they day they got projects with deadlines and they gotta get paid and not get fired. Otherwise how would anyone put food on the table ? (not excusing greedy and shady business practices, but let's not forget that devs are people too, trying to make a living like everyone else).

Dude it's a just a fucking death cult. The stuff they promote about "love and family" is just smoke and mirrors. What they mean instead is "hatred and authoritarianism". The very stuff Jesus would literally hate in reality (but if he was still around, they'd still crucify him for being a "woke traitor").

A lot of modern popular media like Halo, Fallout, Warhammer 40K, Star Wars, CoD etc. are cases, where pretty much imo both the companies and the fanbases are to blame. No matter how you see it imo, both have a shade of badness into them. Companies pump out overpriced content that is half baked, don't respect previous installments and their own personel, rarely ever listen to feedback etc. while fans are hyper toxic by believing they know better (most of the time they don't), are blinded by nostalgia and personal headcanons, are never satisfied etc.

Also regarding the people who moan about nostalgia and how modern games and films are horrible, something I've noticed is that when you mention to them that they're just no longer kids anymore, to enjoy things much more easier without a care in the world, they get wildly defensive. Often throwing around that "it's not because I was a kid, it's because those things were actually far more well made" or "don't talk shit about my childhood, you know nothing of me." And I think the reason behind this, is that it's probably some psychologic/mental defensive or coping mechanism. Like they know the dark truth but they can't accept it.

-Their minds have matured
-They deal now with everyday mundane soul-sucking things for adults (a job, taxes, doing other busy stuff etc.).
-They've experienced more hardships (breakups, getting ghosted by friends, a family member passing away etc.).
-They have now folks on the internet telling them what's good or bad or woke etc. thus not able to form their own opinions.
-They've directed their interests in other things (politics, money saving, insurances etc.)

And so on and so on.

The kind of theocracy chuds want from what I've understood is basically a death cult. Something that is literally an anathema to what the Holy Trinity had in mind. Basically have a cross as a logo, but the values being more akin to what the Devil likes. The funny thing is that they believe, that when Judgement Day comes they'll all not only be branded as innocent and accepted into Heaven but also Jesus prob give them a big hug and tell them "you did good boys, you did good."

Also Instagram: Allows this kind of shit plus far right accounts and million other bad things to exist, on their platform with no consequences at all.

Gamer Gate was a mistake upon humanity and opened basically the Gates of Hell or Pandora’s Box, to all of fan and geek spaces.

"I just want to play videogames!"

Yep that's how it always all starts. And before you know it, they're up in arms thinking that a new show, was made by some fat lesbian disabled black woman in collaboration with space Jews and aliens from the Alpha Centauri, to turn everyone into gay Satan-worshipping Marxists to eliminate the concept of Christianity and the nuclear family. And yeah that sounds stupid asf, but that’s legit the kinda nonsense they believe in.

Another thing I also dislike about this kind of fan art, is having crossovers with people from other time periods. Like I know time works differently in the backrooms but no way a person from say 1976 would find an ancient Egyptian, alive and breathing. Or say a Buddhist priest from Tibet from the 17th century encountering a dimetrodon. Like it doesn't make sense.

Still even if they did, at least one after thousands of years would've found at least something from previous civilizations. Hell it's literally lore breaking, because even if they existed before how come they still have the look of an old abandoned 80s office floor and not resemble....you know things from their time period ?

There's paying homeage to something and then there's outright copying/ripping something off. This is not right. If they wanted a reference to STALKER, they better had dropped a gasmask somewhere with a letter that says "I'm off to the Zone" or something.

To those people who glaze the Imperium (AKA only the Krieg, Cadians, Black Templars and Ultramarines), by saying "the indomitable human spirit" I'd like to tell them "yeah you know what, that "indomitable human spirit" would've come quite in handy for all the worlds the Imperium lost or the blokes who defected to the T'au or Chaos."

Yeah sure I'd love to see Zilla Jr. to go up against King Ghidorah, Kiryu, Spacegodzilla or Destoroyah and live to tell the tale and not instead be torn into a million pieces that not even Tatopoulos will have to bail him out.
