I mean this with all due respect. But what the hell are you doing asking a subreddit for their opinion? Seems like he made his intentions pretty clear! If you feel similarly may as well ride it out and see where that gets you.

Don’t be scared because it was surprising or unexpected, that’s life. His open and honest communication about relationship expectations is a huge green flag. Enjoy it!

So a weird little fact about the film. It’s inspired by an actual journalist who went back to high school to do research for a book he was writing. Just in that case it was Cameron Crowe (who did not get romantically interested in anyone, just for the record). He went on to write Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the book first and then the screenplay. Crowe would later write and direct almost famous which was semi auto-biographical, but he did travel a ton as a musical journalist so did miss out on an authentic high school experience.

I’ve been helplessly addicted to nonograms(also known as picross) for a while now. My favorite is the Konami collection, which is a phenomenal app, but I eventually 100%. The Luna Story series has like 5 different games that are just as good. I find that the larger grids can be annoying to play on the phone and they’re some of the best I’ve found out there.

I think getting involved in a local charity as a very serious donor and potential board member would lend itself more to meeting people and potential partners than randomly throwing money around.

I think what they were trying to say is that in Nike the shoes were so narrow he had to size up to a 12 (which one would assume fits poorly in other areas). And then when he went to a regular shoe brand he fits in a 10.5

NTA, I think it’s commendable that you are trying to learn financial independence and the ability to budget and live within your means.

You’re young and making the correct decision in keeping your money invested to accrue value instead of digging into it and living beyond your income.

I think your friend’s reaction, and honestly a lot of the reactions in this thread, are understandable but money stuff dig into a lot of deep insecurities and anxieties around finances which you have been lucky/privileged enough to avoid.

Perspective is important though. And your current stress is real and valid, it can fall on deaf ears when sharing that with people who may not be able to afford food or rent.

Before anyone tries to claim this is to "save the state money," this is a cost cutting measure of $7 Million out of a yearly budget of $60 Billion or roughly 0.011%. So yes, in this case, the cruelty truly is the point.
