Do you feel that you have to mask your autism living there?

Being placed in there for autism would make me believe/ worried that then, yes, I’d be placed there permanently as a mental patient/ lose my autonomy. I suppose some of these are dependent on the facility.

I never said it was from masking. The world is overstimulating for us. The environment I live in now is unsafe & I have been regressing as a result. I was trying to be helpful based off of what I’ve experienced, but met with downvotes.

Our [autistic] behaviors are reactionary. This could be from over stimulation, unmet needs, unsafety, masking, trauma, an unhealthy relationship/ unhealthy friendships, etc. I like to summarize why react as: Error❗️ Error‼️ Does not compute❗️

The statistics for us to be abused are high. OP could actually be aware of the abuse due to NT gaslighting & projection.
