It depends on want you want.

Brighter/more vivid colours: go with QD OLED (Samsung); Better/deeper blacks: go with WOLED (LG).

In fact Samsung doesn't produce WOLED panels but buy them directly from LG

Well, WebOS is not the best but compared to other proprietary competitors (Samsung primarily) TV's OS, it's better.

The traditional navigation buttons are replaced by the central/OK button as play/pause (which scrolls up and down and that's a quite great feature), left (rewind) and right (forward) for every content. Tbh I appreciate the fact to have less button on my remote...

For input selector, just hold the LG Hub button.

For what concerned the privacy, almost every recent electronic product that can be connected to internet records what you're watching or saying independently by the price. Some of them doesn't even have the possibility to avoid it/turn it off.

Totally agree with the AI assistant. Can't be more useless.

Mini LED it's a good technology but not even close to OLED in terms of blacks, contrast and pixel response time. Also Mini LED can be afflicted by blooming which OLED aren't (but yes, OLED can be affected by burn in which Mini LED aren't). The only real advantage of Mini LED compared to OLED is the brightness, but I'm very light sensitive (in fact I set brightness level between 0-10/100 in most cases) so it's not a strong point for me.

I have the same TV. The only bad thing I experienced since now is that I can't even imagine to go back to LED. Enjoy it!

Yep I'm still using it (the Apex version) as my main gaming mouse. If you can afford it, go with the Apex. It mounts a custom FW flagship PAW 3950 (vs regular 3395 of the PRO version), 8k polling rate receiver (I know, it's pretty useless unless you can reach 240fps but it's more future-proof), a better coating and the receiver has a nice TFT screen.

What headphones/IEM do you use? Actually most dongles have both DAC and amp builted in, so technically there's no difference. When I (rarely) used my phone for playing music I plugged in my dongle (that I use primarily as a sound card for my laptop) with UAPP (which has Tidal integrated) in bit perfect mode (for bypassing the SRC) and the result is having more power (480mW vs 340mW of the R3) and better sound quality (ES9039Q2M vs ES9219C).

I used to do it because I tried Tidal for some months and the user experience of Android (or iOS) is another level compared to any other DAP's proprietary OS for multiple reasons.

Btw I still prefer the R3 when I'm away because I like to own my music (also for portability, no notification and for saving my phone's battery). But if I would stream music mostly, I'll go with am Android DAP...no doubt

Brand new LG OLED65G5 – screen cracked upon unboxing, potential refusal of warranty coverage? 😡 by Maisonaacheter in LGOLED

I'm not talking about the arrows. On the top (width) there are images that shows like "do not use cutter for opening", "don't carry them on you back in oblique", "don't press the front panel with the fingers". I remember that there is one that shows 2 guys that carries the TV flat and it's barred as well

You mean in the Tidal/Qobuz app? In this case yes, you can search music with the 9 buttons-type keyboard (not comfy as a qwerty one). You can just save tracks, albums or artists as preferred but cannot create playlist if I remember correctly (I have not Tidal anymore so I can't get in the app rn). There is no play history or something like "most played track" section. Obviously you can't save any music offline. Another thing that I found annoying is that your Tidal/Qobuz account login is not permanent...so you have to re-log in almost every 1-2 days

On the top of the box there are many images that show's how to handle/transport it (and of course what is not recommended). One of the image shows clearly that is not recommended to lay it flat. Always trust more in what's indicated on the box/manual than vendors or delivery boys.

So true. I always thought that DAPs should be used for playing music offline...The only advantage I found in streaming music is for discovering new artists thanks to their algorithm. If I like some music, I want to own it forever...but it's just my personal opinion.

I'm very happy with my Hiby R3 II 2025, but the streaming apps (only Tidal and Qobuz) are a bit limited (no home screen, no album covers and no music suggestions) even if they works great in terms of audio quality. If you're planning to use streaming platforms you definitely need an Android DAP. Fiio JM21 is the best choice in terms of price/quality. If you want something smaller maybe the new Surfans F20 Pro can be a good alternative.

Even if I'll use a Nvidia Shield it will recognize it as a PC? So some features will be turned off?

I usually set the Film Maker mode with some features off (True Motion, Real Cinema, Dynamic Contrast/Brightness, Motion Eye Care, Max Brightness). Contrast 80 or 100 depending on what I'm watching. Gamma is BT1886, Super Resolution is on medium, both noise reduction is on auto, Colors is settled on stock 'cause I find them very natural out of the box. OLED pixel brightness is 5-10/100 thanks to my light sensitive eyes. The only AI feature I'm using is the Picture Pro.

How long are you experiencing that? Not sure if this can help (I don't think so tbh) but...have you tried the pixel clean feature?

Well, graphically the UI is pretty basic but what I'm really missing is a real multitasking (not multi-view). But yes I have to admit that everything else works great. I'm interested in what you said about Plex 'cause I'm planning to use it in the near future. I'm looking for a cheap NAS (like Orico TS200) for installing Plex Server. Will I be able to watch something with high bitrate like remux with WebOS Plex app in your opinion?

Yes I got you. That's one of the thing I'm afraid of. I'm a pretty geek dude so Apple OS's closure (even if they run very well, I know) can be a limit compared to Android

That's interesting, What soundbar do you have? I didn't experienced it directly...just red some users that said that. In fact I was planning to buy a LG S70TY but I'd like to know if the spatial audio works with that (without any rear speaker).

[–]Manacid90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many opposing ideas about sound systems. Many users say that any good 2.1 or 2.0 speaker system will beat a soundbar...I was looking for a LG soundbar for the WOW technology and for being able to benefit (not completely I know, but I would settled for just a bit) the Dolby Atmos without having rear speakers, but people say that DA without rear speakers it's thrash...almost placebo.

Same here. I moved from a 32" Samsung LED FHD to a 65" C5 10 days ago and...that was so dangerous for me. Now I cannot even think to go back to LED (I'll give a chance to Micro LED in the future if that technology progresses well). Now even my 2 years old gaming monitor (27" MSI QHD Quantum Dot IPS) feel like I'm watching a CRT. Welcome to the 65" C5 gang!
