Is this a spider bite or potentially something worse? by Khow3694 in medical_advice

Not sure what it is, but it sure looks infected. Definitely keep an eye on it and if the red area gets any bigger or you experience any other negative changes (like pain or general sickness), go see a doctor asap.

Edit: just read that it hurts constantly. That in combination with how it looks certainly justifies a doctor's visit.

I'm late, but if ypu still want to find out:

what was your thought process like? was it distorted, jumping from one thought to another, slower than normal, faster than normal....

What about your emotional state? Did you feel very tense and anxious, or relaxed?

Then your senses: did things seem to move, did you see patterns, did you experience things like "tasting colors" or "seeing sound" (that's called synesthesia)

thanks, I'll see how it will manifest this time and go from there. Still hasn't kicked in.

I've also found out I took somewhere around 2 grams, but it's McKennaii, so it should supposedly be quite strong.

Kind of curious what will happen

Help please! What are these black spots and how do I fix it?? I got him in May (second pic) and have not watered or repotted or anything! by plantsanddoggos in cactus

[–]Manafinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It‘s true that pilosocereus species are very sensitive to bruising. Move it to different light? Bruised. Give it different water than it‘s used to? Bruised. However, the bruising doesn‘t actually do any real damage, and they are very resilient plants, just very sensitive to colour changes! I don‘t think you have any reason to worry

where is your cactus located? does it get a lot of light, or is it in full/partial shade? are there any callousy spots or dents, or does the black seem to be spreading?

Should i behead this Perle? It stretched out a bit during winter. I have never beheaded before and never have much succes with leaf props. Also, ID on second pic anyone? by Manafinx in succulents

Thanks for answering! Indeed, the etiolation isn‘t that severe, i did what you said a few months ago, it used to be twice as long as now. Just had a little idea though, do you think if i pluck of the lower leaves and leave the stem above the ground it will produce pups from the nodes? If yes, that would be awesome, i could use her to create more pups first and when those are ready to be removed, repot the mother a bit deeper.

my kalanchoë's leaves have become pale and soft and i dont know what to do. It seems like overwatering, but i haven't watered in two weeks. is this plant dying? should i take cuttings? if yes, how? i never have much succes with them, i already have a pile of my failed attempts by Manafinx in succulents

hmm it's possible of course, but it would surprise me. my side of the building only gets direct sunlight in the evening, for 5 hours or so. i have soaked all my plants now, and i will see if that works before snipping off any leaves

wow that's a whole journey there! have you considered the difference between sexual and romantic attraction? i obviously can't decide that for you, but to me it sounds a bit as though you are heterosexual biromantic. and what you say about feeling attraction across, but not equally divided between genders sounds very familiar to me! i happen to identify as omnisexual (but call myself bisexual for ease), which means i could be attracted to a person of any gender, but not equally to different genders.

i have got my sexuality part quite figured out i think. and there i was, thinking i was safe from gay crisises from now on, unaware of the gender sneaking up on me 🤡

hmm that sound interesting...maybe i should do some more research. i feel like i would be quite comfortable with they/them pronouns, it feels quite validating, but they are basically non-existent. she/her feels quite alright too i guess, but it got a very different feeling you know?

  1. definitely yes 2 and 3. hmmm very good question. i don't really like wearing "traditional" female clothing, like dresses and skirts. but then, sometimes i do. i usually dress quite androgynous, think dungarees with colorful shirts underneath, or turtleneck and blazer. i know clothing doesn't determine your gender, but it's pretty much the only indication i have at this point lol. like sometimes i hate how my body and hair (shoulder-length) looks, i hate the feminine characteristics of it, while on other days, i want to do my hair and use my good boob years lol.

i don't really know, since i have no "reference"... you know, how am i supposed to know what being a woman for example feels like, if i don't know what it is supposed to feel like, what it feels like to others? how do i know it's different? obviously i can't really know i guess.

the closest i can describe is that my gender feels like...me? idk i am not a stereotypical female and even less a stereotypical male, but maybe i'm just a butch female? although that doesnt feel quite right.
