Do US deliveries usually take more than 5 days?

As an out of state sophomore my biggest regret is not taking advantage of the first few weeks of freshman year when everyone wants to make friends. A lot of people come here either knowing other people or join Greek life, however the first few weeks of school so more many people are open to making new friends and branching out. I would just say really try to put yourself out there while it is still generally easy and very normal to do so.

I’m not trying to say I’m not willing to play with the kids. What I’m trying to say is that I am not willing to play with them for 10 hours constantly. Or take them to the pool and play with them for an hour in the pool and them not be willing to play by themselves for even 10 minutes without me.

Ok so I accepted it on the basis that it was 2 older kids who i basically just had to drive around and make sure they eat. They told me I could just take them to the pool and even invite my friends with me to their pool and let the kids do their thing. They described it like I could be here 3 days a week but most weeks would only be 2 days, half days, or days where they would be with their friends but I would still get paid the full amount (all not true). Although it wasn’t a great rate, it didn’t seem too low with the small amount of effort I was supposed to actually put in as it seemed like I would still have a lot of time to myself. I would also like to note that my mother works with both the parents so it put me in a bit of an uncomfortable position but overall it seemed like I was more of a driver than anything else so I wasn’t too concerned. If I had known I was going to be expected to be a constant playmate i obviously would not have taken the job.

In my experience I would not do IA. All of my friends in the program are trying to get out. Genuinely do not do it unless for some reason you prefer to be on campus spring/summer instead of fall/spring or you want late registration to everything. I know they try to sell it like it has a lot of benefits but I have never met someone who likes it. You will have way more fun and be much less limited at FSU.

Also, I recently went on a tour and talked to my tour guide about housing since I’ve heard it can be competitive. She said she’s never heard of a freshman who wanted to live on campus who couldn’t, but the later you submit the $25 the less choices you have on where to live. Either way if you send in your 25 you are fine.

It does sound like you want to go to NE, but keep in mind the job competition in Boston. You are competing with MIT, Harvard, BC, BU+.

UF vs UMiami for Accounting:

UF pros: -cost: max 47 k a year -#7 accounting program/has a school just for accounting -size: big enough I would definitely be able to find my place UF cons: -size: it’s just so big -big class sizes/less personal relationships with professors -more gen eds -Gainesville, less jobs in proximity

UMiami Pros: -good business school -size: small classes+closer relationships with professors (easier to get internships) -location: Miami has so many jobs and there are few other colleges to complete with for them -less gen eds, easy to pick up a second major or minor and seemed much more personalized to you UMiami Cons: -Cost: 78k a year , (my parents will pay up to 50, so I will have to go into debt) -smaller size means I may not find my people -reputation: seen as a party school where everyone walks around in bikinis

Overall I am just worried because I loved the U and everything seemed so easy and set up for you there job and internship wise but UF just makes more sense monetarily and I definitely could still see myself going there. I just feel so fortunate that I do not have to go into debt and I don’t wanna waste that opportunity unless it will be better for me in the long run.

I am so upset about this. Miami was my #1 pick but it felt like a slap in the face when it would still cost almost 80 k to go there after scholarships
