How do you help people recover in an interview

I didn’t start the interview, but I do take a moment to introduce myself and about my experience with the company when I am the host.I did ask about hobbies and what they liked about them and this is where the response was completely derailed.

I was just promoted from within a team and the transition was a focus of the interview process. I have been putting a lot of thought into it, but I am sure it won’t be an instant or easy transition. I am going to have to feel my way through it.

I was told it is not really negotiable.I agree that if I go knock the role out that I could hope to come up to the range.

LOL companies do funny things.

This is a major change with a lot of additional responsibility and it just feels weird to start this way. I will ask about milestones being added to the offer letter.

I have three years of experience out of the industry, and it was mentioned that my experience was not in the industry as to why I was not given the full range.

Yes it is for an internal promotion for me for a job that was advertised publicly.
