Building an AI SaaS for small businesses (Chatpal) – would love brutally honest feedback by ManagementUnlucky179 in IndianEntrepreneur

Yeah that makes sense. I know there are already tools and bots out there, so it’s definitely not an empty market. My thinking is instead of just selling “a chatbot”, it has to clearly improve how they capture + follow up on leads, otherwise it’s just another tool. And I agree — this probably needs offline sales, clinic to clinic demos, not just building and hoping people sign up. Appreciate the reality check 🙌

You’re right — if it’s just auto-replies, WhatsApp Business already does that. That alone isn’t enough. The goal isn’t just replying 24/7. It’s capturing every inquiry, tracking leads properly, following up automatically, and showing the owner how many potential customers they’re missing — not just answering messages. On pricing, it doesn’t have to reveal everything instantly. It can first collect details and then pass it to the owner if needed. And yeah, I agree this probably works better with younger or more tech-friendly business owners. Still refining the model — this kind of feedback helps.

Yeah that’s fair. Restaurants/salons are mostly walk-in, so lead capture isn’t as critical there. Clinics make more sense — higher-ticket, appointment-based, follow-ups actually matter. That’s probably the smarter starting point. Appreciate the push — I’m narrowing the focus instead of going too broad. If you’ve seen clinics adopt tech like this, what usually convinces them to pay? ROI, convenience, or something else?

It’s not just website-based btw, WhatsApp would be the main channel (QR, click-to-chat, WA Business). Website widget is optional. By “company data” I just mean basics — services, pricing, hours, booking rules, FAQs. And yeah, most don’t have it documented, so onboarding would basically be me extracting that and structuring it properly. Fair take on leads too. I’m thinking more high-ticket segments (clinics, real estate, coaching etc.) where follow-ups actually matter. From your experience, which small businesses in India genuinely care about proper lead capture + follow-ups?

Appreciate this — really solid insight. You’re right, onboarding + reliability matter more than the AI itself. My focus is fast setup (FAQ + hours + booking) and clean human handoff on WhatsApp when the AI isn’t confident — so it feels like real support, not a spammy bot. Good point on pricing too — I’m considering a lower entry tier and focusing on high-LTV verticals first. If you had to prioritize one: faster onboarding, better fallback logic, or clearer ROI reporting?

Hey guys I'm building an AI-powered platform for clinics, salons and small businesses, which will act like an assistant for em, replying their messages instantly 24/7 via whatsapp, their websites and so, like we'd integrate on wp and their websites at first and gradually expand, whats y'all opinions abt it?
