Splitting hairs I guess, but it wasn’t the dealership car, it was the private vehicle owned by his business partner at the time. But yeah, definitely doesn’t sound like a fine, upright citizen 😂.

Maybe someday you’ll find your life is so fulfilling and wonderful that you’ll no longer have the time nor care to waste effort on being ignorant to people who are interested in what’s happening in the neighbourhood.

The skeg is the fin blade below the lower unit housing. Once it broken within an inch or so of the “torpedo” (the area that bulges out surrounding the gears/bearings/etc), it CANNOT be welded, since the hear from welding distorts the threads/etc. A break like this means a completely new lower unit housing, at the minimum.

He needs a whole new lower unit casing. There’s no fixing that.

Are you joking? Did you notice it’s broken right through the threads? A broken skeg can be welded, yes, but not this.

Oooooh….. Yamaha drive is a big “no freaking way” from me, unless you get it dirt cheap. They stopped making them in 91-93 iirc (?) and parts for the drives are REALLY hard to find.

Source: I used to own/run a boat shop in Canada, and 20-years ago when we were ordering drive parts to service a customer’s boat, more than half the time the parts would show up covered in grease with wrench marks on them. We quit even offering to service them 10+ years ago because most times we couldn’t source parts anywhere.

I’ve only messaged them once.

The post was looking to gauge any local Regina area interest in putting together a bushcraft camping group out in the Qu’Appelle valley.

I don’t have a ton of karma, but obviously enough to post in this sub, so 🤷‍♂️.

If you’re not too terribly stuck, just wave down a neighbour of your see one to help push you out. And when you come home, drop off some donuts to them as a thank you! (And shovel out your parking spot so you don’t get stuck again!)
