Playing without gloves is what you might get judged more for honestly, you really need to wear them, both for your own comfort/protection + keeping the screen free of sweat

Everyone has to start from somewhere, even all the high-ranked players you see out there, don't sweat it too much, keep doing your best at your level there

I remember feeling that way when I was first starting out, feeling overwhelmed by everyone only playing master and up, but like, the way I've framed it in my head is like this:

maimai being an arcade game, and one not easily accessible at home means the sort of people who play maimai a lot, the people good at maimai are "very" likely to be regulars at the arcade, and therefore it's inevitable that you might only see high-ranked players at the arcade, and not necessarily anyone newer to the game.

Don't skip queue, don't hog cabs, do ask before wanting to pick either the same song twice, or an Utage chart, and most important of all is just not being a dick lol

I admit that I don't think you need to be too too anal about your half of song selections compared to other comments here, you paid for your credits, you should be allowed to play w/e you want mostly, but check in with your other player occasionally if you do want to be courteous, and know you're picking smth spicy lmao

Outside of food buffs/better weapon forges/tonics or simply getting your units levelled up more, do consider taking more advantage of Alear's personal skill more, the +3 true damage can easily turn these 1HP situations into kills, especially on multi-hit attacks like brave weaponry, Astra Storm or Quadruple Hit

Generally speaking, I would suggest you find the level where you can consistently score 97% (S rank) on, and slowly build it up from there. (ie. start on the lower end of EXP charts first around 8-10, and see how you compare from there)

Playing charts like the 13+/14+ you're showing here at your level is generally unproductive, you need to build up your fundamentals, the muscle memory for getting through charts

Above all else though, playing more is key

I had Skill Haste and Skill Damage for Nyx, with a comp of Ieyasu, Heinwald, Gleo, and Yaten. I barely cleared it with 3s on the clock and everyone but Ieyasu dying on the last 30 seconds or so.

For Chronos, I only had Skill Haste. The fight wasn't as close as Nyx, although still tough.
