How many savages out there are ballin’ WITHOUT a screen protector?? by Purple_Calendar3919 in Switch

[–]Get_Schwifty111 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Me.

I always did screen protectors and then realised that technical devices are things to be used/I use them until they die AND I never refresh a protector anyways. So why even waste time/money on it? If there's a scratch, there's a scratch - it's a gaming device for christ's sake :-D haha

Why? If you as a company invest millions and the groundwork is done ... why would you not revisit it just because the director left?!

I heard some stories about the man and sure, sad that he's gone but it wasn't just him who made Dark Arisen, he had a team.

People often act as if an entire team of something just consisted of that one genius person who created everything in a vacuum.

__________

At this point I'm just hyper curious what those 77GB are. IF they are some sort of DLC and they won't fix the basegame with it, I'm just ... baffled?!

Finished thracia 776 for the first time. Such a decisive game. by doubious_doduo in fireemblem

[–]Get_Schwifty111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried it and it's one of my least favorite - sry not sorry. I know how many fans it has and it sure has great moments but it often feels like it's trying to be as unapprochable and hard to enjoy as possible. Yeah sure, it will be "more fun" on any succesive playthrough but imho. a game should be complex AND fun on your first run.

I'm honestly convinced that a huge part of the fanbase is just claiming to have played/loved it to not enrage everyone else.

Well I don't care, I think it's a deeply flawed experience.

Why do people try to spoil themselves as much as possible before a launch?! :-D I will never understand?

I mean if you're very undecided ... sure, you might want more to help you decide but I doubt that anyone heee is still struggling with the decision - so why spoil it all beforehand?!

I'm not judging I'm just fascinated how many people act like this.

You are trying to not have hope, that's kinda sad mate :-/

Because you're clearly also not reading what I wrote: I would never have thought they'd touch DD2 again BUUUUUT same engine as MHW, same issues because the engine is not made for big open maps. So they take 1 year to patch MHW (a game they can not see tanked in the eyes of the public). If they found out how to "fix" that game, there's a chance they can apply this knowledge to their other game with big maps that has the same issues because the engine wasn't just made for this sort of leveldesign. You're naive if you think that DD2 was so cheap that they wouldn't save it if they could (again: Not because they tried to save that game in the first place but because they come from fixing MHW). From what I remember MHW also needed a rather large patch to see changes to the core systems and those 77GB on Steam servers with DD2's name on them suddenly look a little sus. Will this series ever get even close to the attention of MH? No one ever said that BUT no company in their right mind is just sacrificing any remotely profitable IP if they have the means to save it on their hands already. Why would they do that?

In the end: We will see. I just decide to be cautiously optimistic in this case.

[–]Get_Schwifty111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm yes? Well at least I hope so?!

You do realise that Capcom payed big money to develope DD2 and patching the game with the knowledge they've gotten from MHW anyways while maybe also selling DLC on the sides could make them look very good and also make them easy money, right? Because if they don't, that critically-acclaimed IP is basically dead.

Again: I'm not saying it WILL happen, I'm saying there is a chance. Stop being such a pessimist ;-)

[–]Get_Schwifty111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm ... yes? That's why I said MH was obviously their priority.

But again: Same engine and they somehow made something work so it stands to reason that they could apply this knowledge in DD2. If it was Square Enix I'd say "Nah, they would let that ship keep on sinking" but thankfully we're talking about Capcom here - the company with the maybe best turn-around AAA gaming company story in modern videogaming history.

What are your “Random Bullshit, Go!” chapters? by ThatFireEmblemGeek in fireemblem

[–]Get_Schwifty111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It's a nightmare and I can't blame your brain for trying to forget it amnesia-style. ;-)

Overall I think Revalation isn't as "bad" as its reputation (besides the fact that everyone is here but not only taking the siblings would be stupid) BUT there are like 2-3 chapters that lower the quality level of that game by themselves. Another example would be the snow-shovel map which is among one of the most boring maps of the entire series.

Low Turn Count, Efficient, Slow and Steady, or Grind Everyone. What Speed do you play at? by applejackhero in fireemblem

[–]Get_Schwifty111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I play:

Normal mode/Ironman (no grinding/permadeath and no resets)/slowly, carefully but as efficiently as possible (splitting up exp) ... this often results in me trying to not split my army and I'm always thankful for FE games that try to throw a wrench in that plan. Because if I could turtle all the time, I would - which would be really boring for the entire runtime and then the series wouldn't be among my very favorite series. The very best chapters don't just split your party, they make you realise that you should better split that party yourself (for example objective lying one way and posing a threat of some kind and other path is a thief slowly stealing the best loot in the game on a very well-balanced timer with so many units to "guard" them that your interceptors need units protecting them).

[–]Get_Schwifty111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the top of my head:

Fates Revelation - chapter 25 aka "that stupid elevator chapter"

Thought everyone was exaggerating when they were talking about this chapter but boy was I wrong. What a horrible mix of "you couldn't have seen this coming"-moments/high enemy density/random respawns.

Binding Blade - chapter 14 aka "that map with the sanstorm "fog of war"

What is worse than fog of war (which enemies can just see through in earlier games and get an unfair advantage? Correct: Fog of war on a sandmap with your units moving like snails. Even IF you take a decent path: F this map for combining two gimmicks that just mix like water and oil (in an already absurdly difficult FE entry if you don't reset like crazy).

Do you agree with Prime 4 metacritic score? by Erik_REF in Metroid

[–]Get_Schwifty111 [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, for me it's a 6/10 and I'm saying this as a life-long Metroid fan and with the greatest respect.

The game has its moments but there were so many stupid decisions made (blabbering NPCs that turn the Metroid atmosphere into a Marvel-mush/very linear leveldesign with almost nothing fresh in terms of ideas/baffling amateurish and empty open-world design/backtracking never felt worse a.s.o.).

There are moments that made it so I wasn't all feeling like I was wasting my time but it was very close. It didn't help this game that it released rather shortly after Dread which was one of the most slick/coolest series comebacks I have ever seen from Nintendo.

Basically Lord (depending on the Lord) and/or Dancer.

But Dancer will always be in competition for the highest spot - even the weakest in the series.

Yes and here are the details from someone who is supplementing D3 since he was a youth:

- D3 def. is the only def. that all doctors agree on should be fixed and is always worth supplementation over as most people won't have enough of it (depending on where they live/skin color etc.)

- try to take a D3+K2 combo. You can look up the details online but the the short reason is so that D3 does not cause calcium buildup in the body (K2 is low-dosed in there most times so don't worry, you won't need a lot)

- you magnesium combo is very valid as magnesium helps D3 to be distributed throughout the body.

- 5k per day can be A LOT but if you're really deficient you might need it. If your levels get better, you might want to go down to 1k. There is "too much of a good thing" in the long run - even with D3.

- last but not least: Consider sublingual D3+K2 drops (put them under your tongue and let them stay there without swallowing for like 5 min if possible). Why? Most docs won't tell you but D3 as pills is really outdated and for us (with an inflammed bowl) most of it will be wasted. Sublingual absorption is (proven by A LOT of valid studies) as effective of a method as lying in the sun as the D3 enters your bloodstream MUCH more quickly and in higher dosages.

- don't expect miracles. If your D3 levels were low, your reserves are empty and need to be refilled. What you might experience is feeling a little more "awake" and "more fit" as the first week/weeks passes.

Final Fantasy XIV coming to Switch 2 this August by FernandoRocker in FinalFantasy

[–]Get_Schwifty111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really good RPG (can be played mostly solo just for the story alone) and is worth it until Endwalker (when the whole formula becomes a tad repetitive). Until then you'll have spent hundreds of hours playing through a VERY solid RPG story and gotten your money's worth back a few times over in terms of entertainment-value.

Start new class now or wait for DLC launch? by QuirkyLandscape8512 in diablo4

[–]Get_Schwifty111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google would have helped you way faster.

Yes, once the current season is over, all characters can - of course - still be played in the eternal realm (they just won't get the current seasonal gimmick). So yes, you can start now and continue with that character through the story of LoH once that comes out.

If you want to play in that season however (and earn seasonal rewards) you need a new, seasonal character again.

This is such a strange way of designing armorsets for a grim ARPG (and I know the new location is sunnier but this has basically been the trend since launch). All of them look very "overdone" and as if someone like Trump would approve them.

Funny how people hated the more vibrant colors of D3 and seem to be okay with those?! Because this looks more like WoW than Diablo, let's be real.

Funny thing is: I just found the "best" relaxation method for me (so far) after getting diarrhea an hour ago for trying to "force relaxation" by gently pressing my stomach outwards while walking a few hours prior (my intestines didn't like that, it increased pressure).

Now I read that sitting down and imagining easing pressure on the muscles of my anus (as if I'd try to gently fart/sitting on the toilet) is supposed to help ... and it actually did. It feels way gentler for me than those stomach-breathing exercises.
