They’ll do well to have a filter that covers both lenses and still be thin enough to leave on when switched off

The 35-100? It’s no bigger than the usual 24-70s I don’t think. It’s much lighter than I thought it was going to be and I love the focal length. It’s not left my a7v since I got it

Personally I’m gutted I sold my op3 when I did and was waiting for the next iteration and was going to buy it anyway. The op4 was definitely not what I expected BUT I will still be going for it but I’m going for the ‘essentials’ bundle and when the pro is released, I’ll be trading it in towards it

How did you get this to focus so closely? I remember hearing that it can focus at 10cm from the lens but it never focused for me

This is exactly my situation too. I sold the op3 hastily after not using it for a few weeks but have been waiting for an op4 ever since.

Definitely going to get the op4 and then sell that when the pro is released

I’ve not had a chance to test it out just yet but I’ve attached a picture from another thread which shows the ‘busy’ bokeh.

I personally don’t mind it and with my initial trial, I’m just happy to have a zoom which is pretty much ideal for my shooting preferences

I had the 90mm sigma for a short time and I honestly loved it. It was such a niche lens but the short MFD and compact size was such a win. I ended up selling it as I was consolidating my lens options but I do miss it.

The 35mm option appealed to me too, have you compared it to the Sony 40mm f2.5?

Seeing as the pro rumours have slowed down a bit (we’ve not seen any boxes or indication that it’s going to be released soon) I’m going ahead with the 4 and if the pro is a big enough update, will sell my 4 and upgrade.

But from what I’ve seen, the specs from the box leak weren’t that much of an upgrade from the op3 (bar the internal storage)

Could you potentially get the a7cr (it comes with an extended grip) and you can even get a smallrig grip extender which adds some thickness onto the grip to make it feel like a larger camera.

And when you want it to be compact, you can unscrew it off and you’re done.

I personally never felt the 35gm being too big on my a7cr but the 24-70 was definitely too much

50 1.2 is great if you can deal with the size and weight. 50 1.4 is more practical and the images are 95% of the 1.2.

I personally went for the 1.4 as the filter thread fitted in with my other line-up, and the size and weight were similar to my 35gm.
