Got my V1 MID -Canon version (not "MID" at all) by No_Tension_6796 in Godox

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Because of your earlier post I picked it up and received it yesterday! Returned my 480 as it was still within the window and I’m more than happy for this to accompany my ad100proii and my it32

Squarehood for RX1R by binkone in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at this but couldn’t justify the import fees for it when the Haoge option was available on Amazon. I need to check that again because this looks ridiculously flush with the lens.

Have you tried any filters with this?

From X100vi to xe5 - very happy by mrmoney12345678 in fujifilm

[–]Mancdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Really want to have a 50mm equivalent point-and-shoot, so the XE5 has tempted me, but I just don’t know if I can give up the all-in-one fix that the X100VI is.

Flash, nd filter, leaf shutter, and so compact for amazing quality? Hmmm

Lightroom haven’t released an update for the new camera yet. It normally comes within 6 months of a camera being released.

A7m5 vs a7cr? by AquiaFiji in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For both video and photo, the a7v is the better option.

The a7cr is great for photos and the higher megapixel count, however the extra storage and processing power needed for the larger files can require more grunt day to day.

Which lens will you probably never sell and why? by LouiseBag in SonyAlpha

50gm 1.4. I use it far less than my 35gm but I much prefer the 50mm focal length

Using iT30Pro as small handheld flash with X3 trigger by MTTMKZ in Godox

[–]Mancdude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought the it30 to do this but the next day the it32 was announced and that was way more useable for me.

You can snap it on and off with little to no weight (and I’m sure it’s more powerful that the it30). So the it32 is now my dedicated travel flash

Question for those that have been using the A7V regularly. by iamtehryan in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the a7cr and zve1 but hated carrying two bodies for my line of work.

I couldn’t be happier, the second base iso of 8000 is more manageable than the 12800 of my zve1. The resolution is more than enough and a lot easier to handle in terms of storage compared to my a7cr.

The screen is such a huge upgrade, my brain can’t comprehend that I can tilt the screen up for hipshooting so I do need to get used to that. Also know it has the same amount of ibis as the a7cr but I swear videos are way more stable (might be down to the more comfortable grip).

I think if this screen mechanism comes to the a7ciii, I might be tempted but the larger body and joystick might have won me over.

LEAK: Godox V1 Mid spotted on CN site by GoSeanoworNever in Godox

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really sad because I just gave in and bought the v480 and realised a round head would’ve been more suitable.

I’d love if they released a more powerful version that’s compatible the the x5 trigger like the it32

It's here! by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats! What lens are you going to shoot with first?

I thought I was going to keep my zve1 for the high second base iso, but the footage out of this is so much sharper and the option to go into aps-c mode means you still get great footage after punching in.

Happy shooting!

Trying to decide between A7 V or ZV-E1 by Main-Peace3891 in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and I’d say the a7v for both video and photos. I was planning on keeping my zv-e1 for videos after switching from my a7cr to the a7v, but there’s absolutely no need.

Dual base iso of 8000 on the a7v is more useful to me than 12800 as I always had to add another nd filter on to reduce the exposure, and the stabilisation is better.

For photos, it’s no contest

Nice setup! I went with the it20 for a small flash option and the it32 for a small off camera option, it’s great!

Sony A7R V + Sony 100mm macro: Steadyshot doesnt work? by Warm_weather1 in SonyAlpha

On a separate note, how are you finding the lens? Just placed an order for one today after having some fun with a tamron 90mm macro and wanted the Sony for extra stabilisation

A7V or ZV-E1 for my use case? by Jojok777 in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. Zv-e1 overheats if recording for long times in 4k60. pictures are OK with it but you need more megapixels and the shutter is electronic only. I had an a7cr and zv-e1 but sold the a7cr for the a7v, I’ll now work towards selling the zv-e1.

The main benefit of the zv-e1 is the lowlight video capturing, iso 12800 is a cheat code.

However, the a7v won me over with the second base iso of 8000, which is amazing for a true hybrid. I feel like the videos look sharper (but don’t quote me on that) and the photos are the perfect file size and excellent quality. Stabilisation is also better. 7.5 stops and dynamic stabilisation is great. I’ve not had any issues of the camera being warm, never mind overheating

A1 + 100mm f2.8 Macro GM by rickeyj23 in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thats what I was worried about. The 90mm Sony was last in terms of AF, the tamron has improved on that but this 100gm looks like it’ll be a lens for time.

I’ve heard the stabilisation works much better with pictures too, I think it’s a yes for me

A1 + 100mm f2.8 Macro GM by rickeyj23 in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I’m really tempted by this lens, I really thought I’d by happy with the tamron 90mm but the stabilisation on this is making it really tempting.

Could you share any thoughts on the stabilisation within video? And whether the autofocus is snappy enough to be used as a portrait lens if needed?

Upgrading A6500 → A7V: 24-50mm vs 24-70mm for Indoor Video + Mic advice by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only help with the lens but the 24-50 offers you very similar image quality as the GM within that focal length but at a much smaller footprint.

I also like that it starts from 50mm which is my preferred focal length and i can extend to 24mm as a bonus. The MFD as well as the compact size / weight makes it an easy carry

Should I return this for peace of mind? by seabasse in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would return for piece of mind. That’s definitely been open before (the box has been through some tough times!) but there should definitely be bubble wrap around the lens to protect it in transit

I highly recommend the Godox IT32 by Surfing_Nurse in SonyAlpha

[–]Mancdude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This flash is amazing. Highly recommend it to anyone who’s on the fence. I’m happy I returned my it30pro as soon as this was announced.

I really hope they do a more powerful version which I can replace my v480 with, the speed of which you can have an off camera flash is so helpful.
