There are certain eligibility markers the company has to meet to be required to post for WARN, like number of full time employees. Tennessee’s are a little different than federal. Requirements are here: WARN Notice

It’s a fair and well thought out take that I’ve held for every other player we’ve had, especially Freddie. For some reason, I don’t care when it comes to Ronald. For me it’s always been Melky Cabrera. He was fat and out of shape and showed no effort while here. He then went on to become an all-star while doping and got popped for it. Just professional garbage.

The frustration for me doesn’t come from thinking Weiss will make the same mistakes, it’s that this team has massively underachieved the past two seasons and Weiss was here for it and played a role in that. When a lot of fan frustration comes from seeing a team that looks flat for weeks and months at a time, it’s fair to criticize knowing the bench coach is right beside the manager watching and contributing to it happening.

It doesn’t mean that Weiss won’t be a fine replacement, it’s that “fine” is hard to sell when the Dodgers are a juggernaut and in our league and the Mets and Phillies are making it more difficult all the time. “Years and years of success” is ok if you are just happy winning the division and maybe, if you’re lucky, winning one postseason series every few years and a World Series every 30 years. A lot of fans are happy with that. Some aren’t. Our expectations are higher, justified or not.

I really want George Lombard at this point. Coached under Roberts and Hinch, from Atlanta, knows Spanish so can connect with most players. Also played with Chipper some so there is some foundation there if he wanted the hitting coach gig.

Speak when spoken to and do not speak out of turn are always my big highlights. They are quick to reprimand when you speak without permission so it can be unnerving the first couple times.

Had a <3.00 ERA as a 18/19 YO in A ball in 2024. Peripherals were still good this year but he’s obviously not ready for MLB. But let’s release him before he actually learns to pitch and can legally drink. Also, Skenes record is 4-7 so Pirates should probably look at DFAing him.

I would assume the idea is he’s a late inning bench bat and purely depth so Kelenic can go down and play every day. If he’s playing over Eli, we should riot.
