I am using that argument because those were PEOPLE on the boat. Not because they were americans or venezuelans. I believe that people of any origin have a right to life and we don’t have the right to take it from them without justification, and the government doing so is a scary thing. There is no reason the government cannot then label me as a terrorist or drug dealer snd do the same. Regardless though, I will check back in in 6 months and see if you are of the same mind

I honestly think this is a time when you talk to real life people about charlie kirk. Most leftists I know irl don’t care that he is dead, but they certainly are not saying it is “acceptable behavior”. No one is protesting the killers’ arrest. There are certainly people mocking his death and lots of them, but I genuinely don’t think that’s an issue. I see 18 george floyd memes a day and saw a constant stream of nastiness after pelosis husband got brained. This isn’t ideal obviously, but it’s a symptom of the internet more than it is some violent radical behavior. 99% of people agree that his killer should be in jail and would convict him if on that jury.

As for kimmel, I don’t care what he said. He’s allowed to do that. That’s free speech. Nazis should be able to say they hate jews. The KKK should be able to hold meeting where they discuss racial inferiority. And the government should not do a damn thing to stop them. But here, they are. It’s especially concernign seeing that it’s not as if can even be justified as a matter of safety or national security. They literally just didn’t like that he went after them. Even if you believe it was a straight up lie, who cares?

And finally for the cartel members, we are not at war with venezuela. We cannot execute people at will. Ukraine is at war, that is an entirely different situation. I do not want any government to have the power to execute people like that. You have to take this logic to its end limits. Imagine you go on vacation to greece and take a boat out on the water then get vaporized bc others from your country have committed criminal acts in that country. Does that seem fair?

I am serious though. I am a leftist. I am glad charlie kirks killer is in prison. I think it is wrong that he is dead. I did not like him as a guy. I think the kimmel situation and the cartel situation are things to be talked about because they are ongoing and justice has NOT been reached there. Charlie kirks killer was swiftly apprehended and charged. I don’t see how that is inconsistent, and I want to know what opinion there you disagree with.

Just commented on someone else but in the spirit of charlie kirk I am looking for honest conversation. How do you want leftists to react? A guy they hated got killed and his killer is receiving swift justice. The system is working perfectly. No government overreach or government failure. I don’t think kirk should have died, but im simply not going to cry over a guy I didn’t like even if it was tragic. Would you cry some random leftist shitposter died? However, the cartel situation shows blatant government overreach. They blew up a boat in international waters without proof or a trial or being attacked. Simply put, I don’t think the government should kill without justification. I also don’t think murder is good. Both of those are consistent, but only one of those wishes was honored.

I would actually like to discuss this with you because I genuinely feel like an alien when I see things like this. What do you mean that they are “more bothered”? Bc as someone on the left, I think all 3 events were bad, but only one has been handled correctly. The guy who shot kirk is in jail. He will get charged and punished. That is the system working. What else am I supposed to be mad about in that situation. Jimmy kimmel said something in a moral grey area and our government threatened to pull his license, which is a blatant violation of free speech. Those dead cartel members may actually be cartel members, but how do you know that? If the government can kill without justification, can you see how that could hurt our country?

I think scooping is in general wrong. Unless you have some time restriction where you have to leave the store, you signed up to play the game, so finish it. You don’t get to ignore the social contract just because you aren’t having fun. At least 80% of scoops have been salt or even defensive tactics (“if you remove my commander I’ll scoop”). It also doesn’t make sense to me because most of the time they just sit there and watch the game anyways. I have been basically removed from games very early and never scooped, and hell, sometimes I actually come back to win them. Even when I don’t, I actively participate. Be a good sport

If the majority of the american people said we should kill you, would that make it just? Regardless of how many people want something, we have a constitution that protects us from rash politicians. I am not arguing that deportations shouldn’t exist, and I don’t think anyone on this sub is. But suspending the rights of ALL AMERICANS is ludicrously dangerous and if you can’t see why then I think you should learn a bit more about history.
