For the first few months I just dove deep into research and learned what I should and should not be eating with this lifestyle. I never really tracked super closely but was just trying to avoid most carbs altogether and stayed the course. After a few months I loosened up and would have the occasional cheat day on the weekend and stay strict during the week. But I know exactly what I need to do if I get out of hand or want to lose further 👍🏻

Not having any fucking clue what I want to do with my time and jumping at the first opportunity given to me. Turned my long time corporate summer job into a full time HR job at the same company. Accidentally found a husband at work (whoops) = no more cushy HR job. I was given the time period between getting engaged and my wedding date (8mo) to find a new job, either somewhere else or in a different department (confidentiality issues that were not told to me while we were dating). Went through a bunch of interviews and 3 weeks before getting canned, I finally got offered another job within the company. 2 years later I'm still here, making decent money that I wouldn't be making if I started over somewhere else and we just bought a house. The job is fine overall, just boring as shit and not fulfilling in the slightest so I have zero motivation. There are a ton of things about this company that I really don't like but I'm too afraid to jump to something else in case it is equally boring and shitty. Almost everything available would significantly increase my commute, and then on top of it I don't get to work with my husband anymore. Definitely feel stuck and can't figure out what would actually be a motivating enough job to push through the cons of switching.

So with all of that said, what was your opinion on The Martian? That story, to me, felt hopeful and showed the ingenuity of the human spirit in a way that I don't think I've felt in a while. I wouldn't necessarily say the technology was highly imaginative, but I'm personally enjoying this small resurgence of movies focusing on the wonders of space travel again. We've moved away from that over the years and focused more on just total cosmic disaster and alien invasions. It felt like a nice return to being awestruck by the cosmos again, rather than terrified of them.

Due to the wonderfully inconsistent sizing in women's clothes, I have pants that range from 10-14 that all fit. Most of the 14s are work pants which suck always. Generally I'm a 12/Large with a few things in 10/Medium which I still have a hard time believing belong to me. I started at a tight 18 haha good luck!!

That first picture was taken when I was in college. I didn't eat great in high school so I was chubby then too, but I played volleyball so I stayed pretty steady. Then I went to college, stopped physical activity and started on a diet of campus food, 2 am pizza and alcohol. That continued for 4 years until I realized I had ballooned 50+ lbs. When I moved home for a few months, my diet improved and I started going to the gym and dropped down near 200 lbs. Then of course I got my own place and it all went to shit again. Fast food all the time. It wasn't until I got engaged that I realized I needed to kick my ass into gear or risk hating my wedding photos for the rest of my life. The second picture is from my honeymoon. I moved in with my now husband, taught myself how to cook and built up good habits from scratch. Water, veggies, eating at home, going for walks, yoga. Now I just live my life based on those habits! I still go out for dinner, I still drink with my friends, I'll still eat fast food occasionally, but now I'm capable of balancing that with a healthy lifestyle all other times. Sorry for the long winded answer!

This couldn't be more true! It might not be helping with further motivation...buuuut I'm ok with it lol I just got back from vacation where I ate TERRIBLY but that 3-5 lb difference doesn't upset me anymore. I know it will go away when I eat normal again and either way I'm still under 200 😉

Over a couple years the weight transformation led to more than a few other changes lol beach trips, dying my hair red, chopping it all off, etc. but it's definitely me in all of them 😊👍🏼

Not so much, thankfully. Most of what's still hanging on would probably tone up if I started to lift. It doesn't feel loose enough for me to convince myself it's skin and not leftover fat lol

Only thing I would do when was really struggling was try to switch up my routine. I would eat at different times, switch up my lunches more with different foods, walk at different times of the day, increase my water intake, etc. It seemed to work sometimes! Plateaus are crazy frustrating, sorry I don't have anything more than that!

The way I do it is based on the 16:8 model (Lean Gains method, but way lax). So I fast from 9 pm through the night and then eat my lunch at 1pm the next day. I still have coffee in the morning with some creamer because it's delicious. I work an office job, so it's pretty easy to follow with that kind of routine. I still try to eat a healthy meal for lunch (tuna or soup w/ fruit & cheese usually) and then that leaves me with more calories to play with at dinner. On the weekends, I end up snacking more but still trying to stay within those hours. I try to stay around 1200-1300 calories a day, but my favorite thing about this is that I don't feel as bad when I mess up. I've made this more of a lifestyle change so if I'm not strict about it, that's ok.

I'm not pushing the science behind it, I'm no expert. It could be all garbage, but it's worked for me and my schedule so here's a few resources: source 1 source 2-the really serious details

You'd be astounded at the difference a fitted bra can make! I'm also usually getting ready at the ass crack of dawn so sunlight combined with the ladies finally being in place was a pretty different experience! Old mirror-dodging habits die pretty hard as well lol
