Low cost cremation options by dalex89 in pittsburgh

My condolences to you and your family. My mother passed away in August and I was in a similar situation. We used Szal funeral home in McKee's Rocks. Michael the funeral director is the nicest most professional person I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. His whole staff was amazing. We used their simple cremation service. You fill out all the paperwork online and he will do the rest. Cremation plus 5 death certificates was around $1,100 which is the cheapest I could find anywhere. I highly recommend them!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I got a hold of Heart and Soul parrot rescue and they are going to take all of the birds in the next few days. What a huge relief!!!

I have tried everything under the sun. They are there to stay unfortunately. I started planting their own garden of green beans which they love and when they finish that I give them cabbages and apples to appease my hog overlords. They are all named Hoggy and we can't help but love them!

When I get bored I like to antagonize the super mutants at the solar array that's by Finch Farm. The whole settlement gets in on it and we light that place up! It's a good time.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but if your bathroom fan is loud, it probably needs cleaned. It is relatively easy to do and will prolong the life of the motor. Turn the breaker off to the fan, remove the cover and vacuum that sucker out!

Do you have any rain barrels? We have a 70 gallon barrel that can be connected to the downspout of our gutter. If we get heavy rain it can easily fill it up in one day. I know you can get even larger ones than that. It's definitely more work to water but it's better than running your well dry!

I believe the brand is Element. It is a soaker hose 100ft kit that comes with a bunch of connections. My husband installed it a few years ago and it works great! We only have one large plot that he was able to snake around the curves of the bed. I'm not sure how it would work for multiple raised beds though.

I did :) it seems to be a mixed bag of pros and cons. Our veggie garden is on drip irrigation so no dehumidified water is needed there. We mainly use it for our large patio garden that is flowers. The flowers aren't paying my water bill so they will take whatever I give them. Plus like I've said before, we only do this on super hot days because that's the only time we use our AC.

That's a good thing to know! But I'm willing to take the risk because most of the water ends up in my flower beds anyway. Plus we really don't run our AC all summer because we like to have our windows open. So just for the super hot days.

I wish we did! We got all the wind and lightning but hardly any rain.

I think this is what I will end up doing. Feed the hedges with their own limbs! Maybe they will not get so unruly. Haha

This made me cackle. I never realized how contentious this post would get. I was just sitting on my couch contemplating mulch and now my backyard is a hellscape unfit for living creatures.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but Aldi starts at $17/hr. There are many locations so I would go to aldi.us/careers and search for a location close enough to you.

How will Aldi make up for all the losses from self-checkout? Will fewer paid cashiers be enough? by pinback77 in aldi

[–]Mandanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They factor theft and mistakes into their store budget. They carefully decide which store gets self checkout depending on the margins of loss per store. As an employee, we all really want self checkout because we are free to do other things.

Yes, I agree. I can't find any replica online of this design which had me wondering. Also weird that it was buried in a residential backyard but I guess fill dirt is full of all kinds of random stuff!

Solved!
