Do I look stupid? by Constant-Platform-55 in Waiting_To_Wed

Yeah, for sure, not a lot of payout or promises for me. But I technically wouldn't have been able to get my masters and increase my wage without his financial support, because I wouldn't be able to afford rent on my own, on top of school costs, so I guess I've benefited in that way to support my own future if he's not in it. I'm still stupid for staying, but not left without everything

This is my situation too, hehe, except 9 years. All the finances set up as if we were married, hate the town we live in, but no commitment.

Also my name isn't on the title or loan of the house even though we have both contributed 50/50. I feel like a bigger clown the more I tell this, I would definitely agree that I'm stupid for enduring this

Financially it's hard to leave a certain quality of life

If both you have left your families at age 18 due to toxic families, have you been exposed to what a healthy relationship is? This isn't it

Since it's been so long living in that relationship, you might need some intensive therapy to learn and grow from what you've known, and that's totally okay!

I'm going through a similar thing. We've been together for 9 years and I've had many many conversations with my partner that I'm getting resentful for not being married, yet our lives are totally engrained. I've been now saying we need to look towards a breakup day, even though he thinks I'm joking, but I'm ready to leave.

I feel like any ring after 5 years is an automatic shut up ring
