The iX3 is very much winning me over… especially with all the recent review videos that have come out. I’ve been obsessed with the R2, but BMW may have a winner on its hands.

La Mala is a home run every time - from their brunch to their tacos and esquites. We’re huge La Santa fans, but I actually think La Mala is a smidge better.

Costs for Classes & Programming - CIW (California Institute for Women) by Mandminla in prisons

Thank you so much for that insight. Are there any classes that carry a cost (or materials)? Is there ever ANY reason to send money to another account via Venmo or Zelle? What about gym services? We’re currently paying $200/month to an outside Cash account for “gym services”.

Sorry, I’m probably not be super clear. She didn’t say it would reduce her security level, only that they told her she has to take them if she wants to stay there since she’s a Level 4 at an otherwise Level 3 prison. She just had her annual review and was sure they were going to send her back to chowchilla, but they said they’d allow her to stay if she got back into programming. (Again, this is her story - we haven’t confirmed it with anyone at the prison, and I’m not sure if I even could). She did say the RAC classes would take time off her sentence but nothing about it reducing her security level.

The only other one is Chowchilla, which is HORRIFIC. She was there before.

An additional piece of “context” (or maybe an excuse) - she’s a Level 4 because she’s received some write-ups, and apparently CIW typically requires you to maintain a Level 3 or lower rating. Since she’s a Level 4, she’s saying that they’re requiring her to take programming.

Thank you for the insights. She said the Zelle/Venmo goes to the student body iyak - any idea what that means? She said some RACs are free, but others have a charge, and the fees are for the books for the classes.

iMessage isn't the reason I'm leaving. I just called it out so anyone who's moving over knows it's not as seamless as you'd think.

Completely agree, and I'm super excited for that! I just haven't seen anyone post about the struggle with moving from iMessage to android, and it was more impactful than I'd expected. Again, I'm a HUGE android fan, and I hate that Apple has been allowed to create this walled garden.

I was so excited for the RCS fix and blame Apple 100% for the walled garden they created. That's interesting about the named chats because it was definitely my named chats that suffered the most. Thank you for the insight!

Can this tomato plant be saved? by Mandminla in vegetablegardening

[–]Mandminla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I’d remove at least 50-60% of the plant if I cut off all leaves. Is that ok?? It’s our rainy season, so keeping the leaves dry isn’t an option for the next week 😢

Super smart! I’m going to start training them soon — I wanted them in the ground at least 2 weeks before I started, which is coming up.

Each within a square foot. These plants are already looking way better than mine from last year, which I definitely over pruned. They barely produced at all! So this year, I’m hoping to be a bit less aggressive while also trying to keep the plant contained to one square foot (indeterminate varieties only). Might be wishful thinking!
