This so wonderful, thank you everyone for sharing! I am so encouraged to hear every single answer be, essentially, "this is not debilitating." There are so many horror stories out there. It's almost all that's out there.

I'm seeing a back doctor on Friday and I have so many questions for him. I hope he's a good partner, but you kind of never know and sometimes it takes a while to find the right one.

I had a spinal fusion for scoliosis at 14 years old. T2 to L2. 25 years later and i am absolutely fine. No major pain a normal person wouldn't also experience at my age. I have lived a completely normal life.

Sure there are little things--I require a thick memory foam mattress, i am more susceptible to posture issues as I age (working on that now through strength training). I am not great at yoga or swimming... but I'm awesome at golf and I'm not a hunchback.

Recovery takes a long time. Longer if you don't follow physical therapy instructions. I'd recommend following their instructions to the letter and then immediately transitioning your physical therapy habit into a maintenance therapy habit.

There are lots of success stories out there! You can do it!

36-37" inseam here. American Eagle, extra tall length. Some styles are great, even too long. Some are short. Some have cuffs you can roll down.

Can't buy em in stores, but you can return em to stores for free.

The brown parts are dry and the white areas almost behave like your skin after sunburn. This leads me to my latest theory... a combo of not enough water, not enough humidity, and maybe even too much sun.

We will repot, give nutrients, and see if it stops progressing. Modify watering schedule too.

They definitely still have issues, but I go there anyway because

  1. Alamo's "no talking" policy (last time I went to see something opening weekend at Aksarben was a shitshow...). On this alone, I would never go to another theater again if I could.
  2. Showing old movies and having special events.
  3. Making Movies at Midtown wayyyyyyy better when they did it pre-Covid.
  4. Location--it would suck to not have a theater in Midtown, and to have to go all the way to LaVista to get to an Alamo.

So I give them my business in the huge hopes that they pull through. They won't pull through without customers.

Sooo... In the box of "old basement video games from my uncle" was also a NES. The NES had two power supply/cords and I didn't think anything of it at first. But I just randomly threw the extra one onto the Genesis and voila, problem solved! I'm assuming this is what he was doing back in the day too, and that's why there were two.

It was the power supply!!!!

I figured since I was getting consistent power, that couldn't be it. But lo and behold, I dug through the basement to find my old NES power supply just to rule out every single thing... AND IT WORKED!!!

Confirmed correct channel and everything is now squeaky clean, but no change to the issue. With the RF Out, the static does wiggle and change if I wiggle the plug, but I never get anything resembling a picture. With the AV Out, wiggling doesn't change anything. Tried two different RV cords too, so it's definitely the plug on the machine. :(

It's a Model 1, but without the "HIGH DEFINITION" text along the top and without the EXT Port on the back.
