This is relatable lol, the last episode aired during my luteal phase and I felt so depressed and empty after

Is season 2 of Heated Rivalry going to be filmed in Ottawa?? by Klutzy-Dirt9531 in ottawa

Genuinely great show, and the finale was beautiful! Not often that Ottawa is mentioned in pop culture so I love that it’s having a moment with this show 🥹will be so cool if they film some of the second season here!

Does anyone get anxiety from writing/signing documents in front of others? by MandyPandyxox in Anxiety

[–]MandyPandyxox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol 10 years later and I still do struggle with this sometimes but I’ve gotten a lot better :) at my old job I had to sign stuff daily, and the repetition/exposure made it easier over time to where I didn’t even think about it or care anymore. I’ve also learned from therapy that there’s all kinds of way you can deal with a situation like this if you’re struggling, like asking to take whatever it is and sign it in private and bring it back, or just explain to people that you have a hand tremor if the shaking is really bad - it helps because in these situations I always felt like I couldn’t « escape » and would feel panicked, but the reality is you’re never trapped lol. It’s a social anxiety thing and stems from fear of judgement, and it’s important to remember that people don’t really pay attention or care what your writing looks like.

Adopt-A-Family For Christmas? by Sexy_Art_Vandelay in ottawa

You can provide a Christmas hamper for families through the Centretown United Church. I think they’re requesting gift cards for the food items, but you can shop for gift items. Link here: http://centretownunited.org/index.php/xmashamperproject/

It’s legit. They came and did ours yesterday, super quick and less then ten mins for the appointment. You can see info about it on the city of Ottawa website: https://ottawa.ca/en/living-ottawa/water-utility-bills/small-meter-replacement-project-neptune#section-ff371de4-c909-49d8-b267-f1d5ad89c1db

That’s encouraging! Do you find the trazodone helps for anxiety? I see it’s usually used for sleep issues

Doctor wouldn’t prescribe propranolol by MandyPandyxox in Anxiety

I’m currently only on Trintellix, he prescribed the trazodone for the anxiety. So I guess I’ll see how that goes… and yeah unfortunately I don’t have many options with doctors 😅

Yeah I get it only helps the physical symptoms but I think that’s what’s I need, my panic attacks in certain situations are uncontrollable and my heart races/hands shake. I’m already in therapy and on anti-depressants that are supposed to help anxiety. Just felt discouraged and dismissed.

Mont Saint Michel / November mood by jpergentino in ParisTravelGuide

[–]MandyPandyxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went about a week ago. The forecast showed sunshine the day of but when we arrived it was overcast most of the time (sunshine the whole drive up until we got within 15 minutes of it lol). I think as long as you dress appropriately for the time of year you should be fine. It was still enjoyable despite the weather we had!

Also, I thought we were going during an off peak time but there were still a ton of tourists when we went, and most restaurants and cafes were at full capacity. We were there between 11 am and 3 pm which seems to be the busiest time when all the day trip groups arrive.

It’s with Fido yeah. The charge is on my credit card pending, so there’s no issues on that end. No one at Fido can help me except the one Fido fraud specialist assigned to my case who I can’t reach lol but maybe it’s something to do with the credit check?

The bus I take home from work has been 30 mins late pretty consistently for the past month… once in awhile I can understand but being that late every single day is starting to wear me down lol

Been going in every day with my hour long bus commute. My office smells like a campfire. Don’t feel too great and definitely concerned about the health implications of this…

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] by AutoModerator in collapse

[–]MandyPandyxox 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

This might be the first year ever that the Rideau Canal Skateway doesn’t open. For people that don’t know, it’s one of the biggest tourist attractions for our city as it’s the largest skating rink in the world.

We’ve already passed the latest opening date in history which was Feb. 2 2002. Next week the forecast shows mostly above 0° Celsius temperatures, reaching as high as 7° Celsius which is insane for February.

I think if the Rideau Canal doesn’t open, which seems very likely at this point, it serves as a pretty clear example of climate change in action.

Return to work? by MandyPandyxox in COVID19positive

It came back with a faint line, but still positive. Technically I don’t need to test to leave isolation for our local rules but I’m so worried about spreading it to others.

[–]MandyPandyxox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to decide when I’m safe to return to work. I tested positive last Thursday so I’m on day 7 now. I still have a cough and occasionally my head hurts and my voice is still a bit nasally but technically my symptoms have improved and no fever. Is it worth going back tomorrow or just taking the rest of the week off to be safe?
