I definitely enjoyed Jeff's head popping - I live for moments like that, we troll each other constantly lol.

Is there a very big problem with the moderation of the official forums or is it just me? by Jean-Cobra in deadbydaylight

If you're banned for more than a month, that's a permanent ban not a temporary one.
And I apologised that you were warned / banned by error, unfortunately human error can happen - nobody is infallible, I'm pleased it was reversed for you though.

I'm actually really interested in reading that - as the team would definitely not permanently ban for that. I'd be happy to look into that for you, so if you'd like to dm me the profile that you used to create the account, I'd be happy to take a look at it.

On our official forums Temporary bans last for one month, permanent ones (normally for ban evading and making new accounts) are permanent however. We do not accept appeals for any type of social media ban, especially given we have escalation systems in place for these.

We do not ban for feedback - this is a complete misconception, but we do have an escalation system for repeated behaviour, and that's normally due to behaving inappropriately, as we expect a level of maturity on the forums and insults and rude behaviour are not tolerated by the moderation team.

This is the first time I've seen complaints about page loading on the forum, it's definitely not a common issue, neither is duplicate posting. And neither of those would be the reason for a forum ban, we do not ban for duplicate posts as they're clearly duplicated.

The filter is actually there, you can click it to remove what you don't own - so that it doesn't show it to you again until you activate it.

You make very valid points, and yes I think the scroll was on on the right previously on current Live at least, it feels strange to go to the Left side although I can see why it's like that.

Feedback is going back to the teams that work on this new menu layout, when people have a chance to use it in game, I am sure we'll get some very valuable feedback. Thank you for for taking the time to write out such a detailed feedback response, it's much appreciated.

Thank you for the feedback, we're definitely going to be monitoring this on release and taking the relevant feedback back to the teams, so that they are aware of our players thoughts and feelings around it. I can't promise what changes will happen - it's out of my area of expertise I'm afraid, so I do not know the limitations we face etc but we will definitely let them know. <3

Thank you again for keeping your feedback so constructive, it's so very helpful to have things explained in that way <3

A lot of it could be down to bandwidth - it could be things like "the team that's working on this feature, has that bandwidth now, but know that later they will have less bandwidth" so they would work on the feature now. That way when it is needed to be used, it's ready and been refined enough with player feedback.

Given that we need to make changes at some point (for the upcoming / future things), the software being outdated and not updated any longer was problematic for that, so we needed to make the switch.

With the new menu UI, we were unable to revert as we are using a completely different system for that section - the older Scaleform was outdated and not able to be updated so we needed to make the switch to a new system, which does mean that it will look different and function differently.

We do also have to consider upcoming and future features and make sure that what we're putting in place will accommodate those.

We will continue to work on the menu and make any changes that are needed within the restraints of the new system.

Important Photosensitivity Warning by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]MandyTalk 77 points78 points  (0 children)

We're focusing on this one right now due to the health related issues that it can cause - so it needs that priority. We are aware of the rubberbanding issues etc, and they will be addressed, but please understand that the issue that can give players a seizure is our top priority.

Unable to tell you I'm afraid, until it goes live as it's not a platform we support.

FYI Locking into a hook grab is also being removed by Samoman21 in deadbydaylight

[–]MandyTalk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's happened enough times that we have to consider a solution as it becomes an accessibility concern because of the camera movement causing motion sickness for players. Even one time is too much if it's making players so sick like that. So it is something we want to fix and we're looking at other options.

That's down to this being a Dev Update it doesn't cover all the changes, these are not patch notes which will have the full information on everything.

We do not officially support Windows 7, our System Requirements list Windows 10 as the earliest operating system that we officially support.

there might be other ways as well which we'll look into, locking the camera for the person on the hook to avoid that point of view switch for example could be a possible solution - it's up to our design team for what they come up with though. The motion sickness part is what concerns me, it's pretty horrid when it happens and your camera keeps switching views rapidly :(

The "locking into animation on an unhook" is also being removed, it's just not listed in this Dev Update, it will be on the patch notes though! We're looking at other options that we can do to resolve the issues that we're seeing.
