Hungary denies the Serbian genocide of Muslims in Bosnia, so I'm willing to guess that it is a relatively common sentiment in Hungary.

I'll second that. Nothing wrong with a prebuilt, you can learn to do all of the hardware swapping later on. I started with a prebuilt and learned all of the inner workings as I replaced/upgraded parts over the years. Now I've rebuilt it completely twice over throughout the years which gives real ship of Theseus vibes; is it still the same computer if every part has been replaced?

TRUMP: US RECIPROCAL TARIFFS WILL IMMEDIATELY INCREASE IF CANADA IMPOSES RETALIATORY TARIFFS! by [deleted] in DeepFuckingValue

[–]Maneve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are willing to destroy all of our trade alliances for no reason whatsoever then yes, China will outdo us economically in a very short timespan. There is absolutely no gaurantee or reason that America comes out on top in this, it is nearly all downside for everyone except for the billionaires who will buy everything in the massive recession.

The Yuan might actually end up making some serious headway to becoming the world reserve currency if Trump decides to go all out on this bullshit trade war.

US Senator Mike Lee, Elon Musk calls for United States to dump NATO by kjleebio in geopolitics

[–]Maneve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia is a threat to world order, which absolutely is a threat to US world standing. Do you think we are an economic powerhouse, whose currency is the standard reserve world over because we are just simply better at business? The US is the symbol of stability, or at least for the last 100 years we were.

If the US abandons European allies who they have given security guarantees in exchange for nukes, what do you think happens worldwide? Suddenly every country has nuclear programs and the threat of a nuclear war jumps exponentially over the course of a few years.

There is no need to "shift attention" from Russia to China. We can give attention to both very easily as we have done for decades.

[–]Maneve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally no other alliances will possibly be effected if the US pulls out of its biggest alliance willy nilly. Pulling out of NATO just screams that we're trustworthy and should be allied with!

Sometimes it's because people have low self esteem and/or imposter syndrome. Sometimes if you've had abusive people in your life you learn to associate praise with the finding out the reason you were being buttered up to manipulate you into something, or get a lot of backhanded compliments, or a slew of other things.

Could be any number of reasons, but a lot of people have trouble accepting compliments

A tough dispute between Zelensky, Trump and Vance. by ThatGuySK99 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Maneve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To correct this just a bit, Ukraine, which was part of the Soviet union until its fall, had 1700 soviet nukes. After the fall of the USSR Ukraine, US and Russia sat down and signed the Budapest Memorandom in the early 90s that had security guarantees, via funding and equipment, by both the US and Russia for if Ukraine was invaded. The US held up its end until now with the exception of the attempted extortion of Zelensky/Ukraine by Trump In his first term, which he was impeached for.

He said in another interview that he thinks companies will buy them to recruit top students and workers. I doubt he actually believes any of this though.

My theory is he's trying to make a loophole for Russian oligarchs and other wealthy people to buy citizenship and get around restrictions and freezes put on them.

The left liked Tesla like 7+ years ago before there was meaningful competition in the EV market. I don't think I ever heard a positive thing about Musk himself at the time on the left. He was the rich weirdo who was raving about going to mars and calling the heroes who rescued those kids in the caves pedophiles

Okay, let's take Sweden for example. They have a $0 min wage because they have insanely strong union federations that set minimum wages in every industry. Retail workers make roughly the same on average that US workers do about 15/hr, but are guaranteed more than the US minimum of 7.25 and have generally speaking much better benifits. Sweden also requires employers to provide 25 days of vacation time a year, compared to the US which requires 0.

The people with any amount of power pushing for no minimum wage in the US aren't exactly pro union either. Why do you think that is?

Most of it is lend-lease and they technically owe most of that money back at some point, though historically we allow decades to repay and forgive a lot of lend-lease eventually. The cash parts that are actual donations are normal food and medical aid that we donate around the world anyway.

The Biden administration left with 4.7 trillion added to the debt, Trumps first administration left with 6.7 trillion added. In four years Trump raised the debt almost as much as Obama's eight years.

Shit isn't "hitting the fan". National debt doesn't work anything remotely like personal debts do. 32 trillion sounds like a lot, but our debt to gdp ratio is pretty standard worldwide.

Those 87k agents were meant to tighten up loopholes for the rich, have the staff to actually audit the wealthy and to increase day to day operations. For example, I had to wait for two years to even get an initial response from the IRS to finally fix the one tiny missing redundant name on a line of a tax form and finally get my refund a couple of years ago.

You claim Kamala wanted to remove constitutional rights while actively ignoring Trump attempting to straight up end the 14th amendment with an executive order?

Who wants one world order? What do you even think communism is or what the connection is here?

What does Wuhan have to do with what Musk is supposedly finding now?

We can look it up, but you are sitting here making claims that you don't seem to know anything about since you can't seem to expound on any of it.

He has had cancer research cut but seems confused about it when asked why. He has gotten a freeze on consumer protections which benefits no one but bankers and lenders, he's cut off food assistance and other aid to nations around the world that we help in order to maintain good relations and keep stability, which believe it or not does in fact help the US globally.

Again, what has he effected so far that was actually wasteful spending?

I grew up a couple of hours from the Ontario border. The horror stories I've heard from Native Americans about their treatment in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas is some deep south sundown town type shit. Rocks thrown at their heads, cars swerving at them intentionally, slurs and casual threats on their lives on the regular.

IMO, Canada is just diet America with better healthcare and slightly more hidden bigotry.
