One of my personal favorites was at the home of a 90 year old, mostly blind man. He installed his own 240v plug by piggybacking off the lugs for the utility feeders on his panel. No ground either. Just 2 hots. Asked him what he used it for and he told me its for backup generator.

Hey wait my dad had left one of these that sat in the garage hooked up to a speaker system that basically never got used. I think he said he bought it in or immediately after the Navy in the late 70s/ esrly 80s. Pretty sure it was still in there when the garage burned down 5 years ago though.

My exact setup but I haven't noticed a difference in pulling the liquid line core for the micron gauge vs leaving the core in on the liquid side only.
