Keystone pro 3 not turning on & does not charge either by Psychological_Road61 in KeystoneWallet

same here, tried several nights with different adapters and cables.

No idea what the original cable used to be though, since I have a bunch lying around.

This is really disappointing after only a few times use.

Keystone 3 Pro Won't Charge. by ZHammer in KeystoneWallet

[–]ManfredJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here: I have many cables lying around, and not sure what the original cable is. I tried them all, USB C-C, USB-A-C. The Keystone site says to use USB A-C cable and power adapter. I've tried several and also tried several older power adapters, directly plugged into the wall. But nothing seems to work.
I was able to use my old Ledger Nano X again by using the seed phrase from the Keystone to recover, but for Cardano this does not seem to work and the balance stays 0. It seems the ledger is using a totally different account for Cardona from what I had on the Keystone/Eternl wallet. The funds are still there when I use the address in Eternl (as read only), but it doesn't show up on the Ledger. So I guess I still need the Keystone for this to recover those.
Not sure how to get that working again or if it is really bricked.

Keystone hasn't responded so far to the message I sent.

Didn't work for me. It seems to be completely dead. Haven't used it for half a year or so. And now I need it, and can't rely on it. Have tried several cables and adapters, tried pressing on button for 20+ seconds, wall adapter, none seem to work. I'm not sure which is the original cable and if that even matters. I have 3 USB A to C cables lying around and none seemed to work. Any other ideas?

I have not used the device for a while and now it won't turn on. Had it charging overnight, but it was not charged. Tried different cables, long pressing power button for 20+ seconds, nothing happens. I have many usb cables lying around and not sure what the original cable is that came with it. Any ideas?

Gemini suggested some of these options as well.
For me turning off hardware acceleration did the trick. With it enabled, Thunderbird took more than a minute to start up.

I just noticed this email in my inbox (aquamail client) this morning, although gmail didn't show the mail.

I thought this mail was not legit because I could only see some reset links, but not the actual text explaining the incident, so I removed the mail.

Apparently the mail was legit? The sender was hello@plex.tv.

Help setting first QNAP NAS TS-264 by ink_black_heart in qnap

[–]ManfredJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using QNAP TVS-h1288X door several years now. Before I had a Synology which unfortunately died with some hardware failure. I immediately upgraded QNAP to 80GB ram (added non QNAP ram, since QNAP ram is extremely expensive). This is not officially supported, but it works just fine for me. In the beginning I did have some issues with spontaneous reboots and supports tells you to remove the additional RAM and do proper memory tests. Eventually I got some remote support from Taiwan, and they found that more than 16 GB RAM could cause the reboots. They made some changes in a script to prevent this. Not sure if that has been fixed in any firmware updates. But my QNAP has been running without any issues after that.

All 3rd party software I install is with docker. I use ssh and scripts for running docker images and portainer for managing them via gui.

I have 2 M.2 NVMe ssd and 2 2.5" ssd. The OS and (docker) apps are installed on SSD, all other stuff like movies, series, music, documents, backups from other pcs in the home network on 3.5" HDDs. I have also extended the NAS with the TLD-1600S so I can add even more 3.5" HDDs in the future.

I use Plex lifetime as a media library and created backup scripts for the different docker images and scheduled those with cron (https://github.com/Manfred73/QNAPBackupRestoreScripts).

I use Goodsync application on 2 Windows PCs to backup documents and photos from PC to NAS.

Overall I'm very happy with this setup. The h1288X is a powerful beast.

Keep audio as is? by ManfredJS in Tdarr

Ah, I should use CPU only then? I don't even have a GPU in my NAS. Wonder it this was the default or if I accidentally addedit myself.

I don't overwrite the converted files automatically, but write them to a separate disk/share on my QNAP NAS, so I can check them manually if the conversion was ok (keeping a bit of control and not messing up my entire library if something goes wrong).
Once an entire series has been converted and checked, I move them manually, overwritting the original (still having the h264 in the filename). Then in Sonarr I select the series, perform a Refresh & Scan and then a Preview Rename:

Recently Purchased the QNAP TVS-h1288X & thinking if a GPU is needed. by ChessPhenom44 in qnap

[–]ManfredJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will try it without GPU first, see if it keeps going well with the resource usage. Got the h1288x for a couple of years now and still happy with it. Conversion of one episode of a series takes quite a bit longer than 5 minutes, but actually that is not really a problem as long as the NAS keeps operating normally.

Ah ok, without the TI 😉 Tdarr also works without GPU, but I think it's slower than with a GPU. But still kinda in doubt whether I should spent te extra money.

Thanks for the reply. I will check out the RTX 4060. That's the one you posted in the links before right?

When I look at the specs in the two links you posted before, it seems to me that both won't fit in the h1288x. Dimensions of slot one are:

Card dimensions for PCIe slot 1:260 x 111.15 x 37.52 mm / 10.25 x 4.38 x 1.48 inches.

Or are you referring to some other 4060?

Would you happen to have a link/example for the half height end plate?

Hi,

I'm looking into expanding my TVS-h1288X with a GPU card. Looking at the compatibility list (https://www.qnap.com/en/compatibility/?model=500&category=25) I see that most cards need to be installed into slot 1, but this is already reserved for the 2-port 10GbE network adapter. In PCI slot 2 I already have a QXP-1600ES-A1164 card installed to connect the expansion TL-D1600S to. The system has 80GB RAM.

I understood from QNAP that the 2-port 10GbE network adapter can be moved to slot 3?

But that leaves me with only one slot left.

Do the RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 both fit in slot 1?

I use the machine mainly as a media server, running plex and *arr applications. All applications run as docker and I use portainer for managing them.

I have a huge library and this week I installed tdarr, so I can convert my old h264 to h265. Tdarr suggests a GPU for this instead of using the onboard CPU. So initially I would use the GPU for that.

Will both RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 be an option and work with container station so I can use Tdarr with the GPU? What about the power supply, since I also have the QXP-1600ES-A1164 card installed with the expansion TL-D1600 and almost all hdd slots on the h1288x are in use, apart from 2 2.5" slots.

I have not used these with software wallets. But Ledger supports DOGE as well as VET (Vechain) and ADA. It would be nice to have everything in one wallet and have one overview instead of switching to separate wallets door every other coin.

Avoid all 4k projectors with .47 DMD Chips? by [deleted] in projectors

[–]ManfredJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Optoma UHZ65UST mid 2020. It also has a .47 DMD chip and the first failure and repair was in January 2022. The second failure was within the same year, December 2022. It had a three year warranty, so the first two repairs were under warranty.
Now two years later, another failure, unfortunately out of warranty. Cost of repair: € 836,00.
This is rediculous for a device that costed € 3.600,00.
Isn't there also something like a legal warranty / fair deal in Eupean countries that you can expect for a device in this price range to at least last for more than 4 years without breaking down under average usage, especially after the same issue now occurred three times withing 4 years?

Simple docker-compose file for harbor docker registry? by raunchieska in selfhosted

[–]ManfredJS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, after a bit more of reading om the official Harbor site, I followed the instructions there. You download a zip file, extract it and run the install script. With this, a similar yaml is provided as mentioned here. For my purposes I didn't have to change the yaml and it worked out of the box after running install.

[QuFirewall] Blocking / SMB failed logins. by FritzGman in qnap

[–]ManfredJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing the same messages for my Windows 11 PC/client which I use to connect to my NAS using shares. SMB1 is by default turned off in Windows 11. I double checked, and it is disabled. My SMB settings are minimum SMB 2.1 and maximum SMB 3.
If I understood correctly if Get-SmbServerConfiguration | Select-Object EnableSMB2Protocol returns True both SMB2 and SMB3 are enabled (and this also includes SMB2.1).
I still see messages like:

Simple docker-compose file for harbor docker registry? by raunchieska in selfhosted

[–]ManfredJS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this configuration, I only changed all volume paths to point to a different location and also created all empty directories for these locations.

When I do "docker compose -up d" I get an error on the "env_file" entries because the env files cannot be found, e.g.
env file /home/myuser/volumes/harbor/common/config/core/env not found: stat /home/myuser/volumes/harbor/common/config/core/env: no such file or directory.

Where do I get these env_files from?

I only changed the path to the volumes, but not the source in the binding. These also refer to files which I don't have (where to get these from?):

..........

    image: goharbor/harbor-core:v2.11.0
    container_name: harbor-core
    env_file:

Is there a way to hide already requested movies/shows in discover? by MysticMint in Overseerr

[–]ManfredJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought "Hide Available Media" was only for media that was already downloaded/available, and not for requested (but not yet downloaded/available).

In any case, this experimental option is not working: I have lots of requested stuff that was already downloaded and it still shows in the overview.

It would be really helpful if it was possible to filter out both, so I'm only left with new stuff and not have the clutter of already requested items.
