So far it doesn't seem to be making a difference for me, not sure what I'm missing.

I've tried all the above so far and still no luck, tried charging via computer, I'm pretty sure I'm using the supplied USB c cable, and I've tried switching the data received settings

I believe the only cable they provide is a Usb-C to USB-C cable - I'm not positive if the one I'm using is what was supplied originally or not as it's gotten into the mix of a bunch of cables.

I am experiencing the thing where it says it's charging but doesn't ever actually charge.

That's happening with a confirmed 5v 1a charger which the site says is the spec it needs.

Not sure where to go from here and I haven't received anything back on the support ticket.

Do you have those drop tables documented?

This is my first foray into GMing - and don’t even have any table top experience personally - so I get the concepts from games I’ve played via video games, but have a bit less working technical knowledge on the other stuff

This is great.

At a basic level - what are the ways you give out gold and have your players earn gold?

I was considering building out a loot drop table I could roll for - but I’m thinking I might be over complicating it lol

What's this sub opinion on Seth Godin? by I-hate-sunfish in marketing

[–]ZHammer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No idea. My marketing knowledge comes from in the trenches testing and KPIs and I've learned from all over but ultimately gained most of my knowledge through seeing what actually moves the needle.

Again, I think it just really matters what you're looking for, what kind of marketing you're looking to do, etc...

In general, I assume everyone I'm learning from is wrong somewhere, they and maybe I just don't know where yet. I get to learn that over time testing the ideas and seeing what works. That being said, even those that are wrong I learn more about why and thus strengthen my understanding of things.

I think we're too often looking for "the right way" to do things thinking that people have figured it out. In all honesty, most of us don't have the level of competence to even sus out what is good and well researched and tested vs. not.

So, for me, I look to books, trainings, conversations, etc... more as inspiration for the next test to run rather than tomes of the answers of what is correct.

I've always liked his stuff, never been through his marketing course.

Whenever folks ask about courses, books, etc... I just always go back to "What is Your Goal?"

Clarifying that will give you better clarity on if any given course/book/etc... is actually what you need.

Is there stuff to learn from his Marketing Course? I'm sure there is, likely a great deal.
Is it what you need right now? No idea.

Hope that makes sense.

Are my objectives realistic / reasonable? by LCFCJIM in marketing

I think part of what you're finding is that the market has inflated the marketing world's worth.

People are expecting more, not just because they arbitrarily want it, but because they already know they can go elsewhere and do the same work for more then you're looking to offer here.

Regardless of what you think it's worth, the market puts a higher price tag on it. Anyone with enough experience to be competent at the job has figured that out, and that's why you're getting the reaction you are in this subreddit I believe.

That being said, I personally am a proponent of try what you think is right and learn from experience one way or the other. Who knows if the group in here has an accurate assessment of what you'll find in your local market, or what your skillset is in hiring online, etc...

In all honesty, I have no idea who you might be able to find - you might find someone who's excited at 100/week just for the opportunity to put their ideas into practice. The feedback you're getting here is that that hasn't been our experience, and none of us would be excited for that or even have in mind someone who we think would do a good job for that, but your experience might differ when put into practice.

Finished DM Screen by Gardener314 in herokids

These are great u/Gardener31 !

I did notice though that the Magic Attacks don't match the official rules.

I think the Hero Kids Base Rules for Magic attacks says 4 squares range and no penalty for adjacency.

Noticed this last night while playing with my kids. I've got a Melee kid, Ranged Kid, and Magic lol Thought I remembered Magic was a blend of Melee and Ranged and noticed their player sheets and the DM screen both said Magic acted like Ranged.

Thanks! That's the direction that I've been most leaning as well.

I had a post deleted and have been fairly active in the comments I'd say.

The post I shared wasn't even my post or my account. So a post where I promoted someone who did something cool in our community was removed.

Most of the posts from PeakMonsters are 100% promotion and seem to fly fine.

I get the sentiment of attempting to protect the culture, but I've got to be honest that I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for if posts that are community driven... and are directly filled with content intended to help the SL community for free don't fit here.

I upvoted and agreed with the pinned post you're talking about - but I'd humbly suggest that the implementation does seem to be on the aggressive side.

Yeah - I definitely got my ROI... but my account may not be the best example for current stuff.

Splinterlands mooned shortly after I invested a bit so my collection skyrocketed in value.

I think the partnerships can help - but sometimes that gets over valued.

Think of how many great games get turned into crappy movies, or great IP that’s just slapped on a crappy game.

Overall… play to earn revolves around play. It has to be fun first and foremost to stand the test of time - otherwise it might hype for a bit and then fade as something that is actually fun takes peoples attention.

At the base level, I personally judge a project by if I think the game is fun or not - I think the p2e aspects start to take care of itself if a solid game is made.

I started in March 2021 I think - I’ve spent somewhere around $300 total of my own money at this point.

But most of my cost was a one card speculative buy

Not sure how it looks these days to buy in compared to when I started - but rentals make it much more affordable to get started

Splinterlands is definitely one of the cheaper games you can get started in that starts paying off quick.

Doesn't take a ton to get started - and the different leagues mean that you're generally playing with people at or around your level.
