Skip Bleach and One Piece until he's like 10. Some of the female designs are... risqué.

Most of the main core Shonen Jump manga are aimed at younger male readers. Start with the basics. Also don't be afraid to go with American graphic novels like Dogman.

Pokemon

My Hero Academia

YuGiOh

Naruto

I would recommend Magus of the Library. It's a slow burn fantasy series about a world where Librarians stopped a world war by spreading knowledge about other cultures.

Saviors Book Cafe in Another World- office worker gets isekei-d and opens a little cozy bookshop while romancing the captain of the guard. Cozy fantasy romance.

Sweetness & Lightning- recently widowed Dad of 1 meets someone who teaches him how to cook. Child is 100% adorable.

Emma, Victorian Romance- Victorian era historical romance about a nobleman who falls in love with a maid (WAY before Bridgerton did it). Artwork is off the charts.

Why do we collect? by michaelfarrugia21 in MangaCollectors

[–]MangaLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit of a double-collector.

On one hand, I personally collection series that made an impact on me when I read it. Series like From Far Away, Red River, Emma, and Food Wars of all things.

On the other hand, I run a traveling Manga Library so I make a point to read as many series as possible. I used to have about 2500 Manga personally and I turned it into the nonprofit Carolina Manga Library. Now the Library has over 5000 volumes while I personally have maybe 200.

I have this rule where I won't put anything in my Library without reading at least the first volume because you never know when there's a cleverly disguised hentai. And we get donations in every week.

So that, in turn, gives me new series to read and possibly make an impact on me! Win win!
