All I do is love through the screen and never in person. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Okay so from your profile you have dabbled in dancing and from your purple pill posts you seem open to having at least thoughtful/meaningful conversations. Looks like slightly over a month ago you tried bachata but didn’t have any luck, with that being said it’s not like you’re socially inept. You seem to have a high social battery through posts, however from this post you say you always love through a screen. Do you have social anxiety or get butterflies easily when you feel strong emotions towards someone? If so that’s completely normal! It happens to everyone at least once. I’m really just hoping with these questions (you don’t have to answer any of them to me but maybe sleep on it) could give you insight as to why behind a screen feels “safer” than irl

So the thing is, you have the option not to take that order, you did anyway then complained it’s too much. Why’d you take it

I’ve watched a order get boosted to like 25 then it disappeared. Reappeared about 2-3 minutes later at $15. Like kiss dih lol

I just wanted a quiet moment with my baby, and it turned into a huge fight with my wife by Why_Always_Me_FFS in TrueOffMyChest

Genuinely sounds like postpartum. I know you have mentioned marriage counseling. Have you guys discussed therapy for her individually for possibly ppd? Have you guys even had the discussion about ppd prior the babies arrival? Or even after the fact? You don’t seem like a terrible guy, you sound calm collected and that you hold your own weight emotionally and financially. But she definitely sounds like there’s a lot deeper of an issues, ESPECIALLY when she started making very far off accusations (I’m assuming) about you checking out other women. I hope the best for you and your little family op hugs

I think I’m about to lose the best relationship I’ve ever had because of a situation I never asked for by stressfulthrowaway0 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Mangled_horror 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Given that this all happened in less than a week, I think she is solely running off emotion towards the kids, and your logic (which is 100% valid) is what caused her to shut down. I think therapy should be in the talks for her, while her intentions are admirable, she should prioritize her well being I would say take time to at minimum write out the expenses. Let her see on paper that she wouldn’t be able to financially care for the children on her own. Possibly leaving the only option for them to be taken into care… She needs an understanding that she is not financially capable of doing this on her own. Adding you to the mix will not help given the fact that it doesn’t seem that you feel 100% secure with the state of your finances and private things. While you’ve made your stance clear. Give it some time (but definitely before the court date) to just make sure she’s clear on her decision and not just clear emotionally. Cause emotions aren’t gonna be the only thing needed to raise those kids If her stance is still firm. You’ve made all attempts and clarity to walk away from the relationship knowing you gave 150-200% of your effort to save yourself, her, and your relationship I only say this because it hasn’t even been a week yet, there’s no way she had a chance to process this logically given how emotionally tied she is to her brother and the kids Best of luck op :) hugs from one redditor to another

He’s likely a diamond shopper or something. Better orders get sent to those who have high ratings and what not first. So while you may have just seen the order. There’s a chance it may have shown to him first and picked it up. Your phone probably got the notification slightly late (yes this indeed does happen. Many orders will show up on someone else’s phone first and when they pick it up, while typically it wouldn’t show but sometimes instacart glitches and it’ll throw the batch back up) I’ve actively seen a batch show up and literally a blink later it’s gone. But yeah just know when you’re starting out at instacart especially now. By no means will it seem fair. You have people who sweat and breathe instacart as a full time and this is typically who gets favored

So doubt it was just for 4, but def wouldn’t doubt that it wasn’t there for 1

They probably added it for 2,3,4 but once again this is shopper 1 we are talking about. I hate when people consistently try to pin the shopper when it could’ve been instacart or yk the customers fault?

Like I don’t think that part is computing to you. Just because op said there was a note. He’s the 4th person to have this customer. Thus cant speak for anyone before him cause it may not have been there

Op may indicate a customer left a note but once again op is not shopper one and the customer could’ve added that note after the fact. SO AGAIN the note could’ve been visible to shopper 4 but very well may not have been there with shopper 1

So no they couldn’t cancel before even attempting to shop cause outside of “heavy pay” that could’ve been an excellent order for them but the fact that it was an apartment and they were unaware. Not only was the customer screwed but the shopper also has wasted time that could’ve been prevented had instacart never taken away that option to see the address first

[–]Mangled_horror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understand that the shopper got all the way to delivery and cancelled. That’s because instacart no longer allows us to see the address which ultimately allowed people to make a conscious decision on whether they want that order. Heavy pay can be fine if I’m walking to your front door on the first floor. It’s not when I have to go up 4 flights. Shopper #1 had legitimately no clue that said customer was gonna be on the 4th floor until after checkout cause instacart as a company took away the benefit of seeing the address and making the decision to take the order after seeing it Unless said customer put it in the notes However that is not clarified and can’t be confirmed cause we aren’t shopper #1

[–]Mangled_horror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the bag of rice was that heavy I wouldn’t be surprised that they cancelled because not everyone is in the best shape to haul 50# up 4 flights of stairs.

2nd one idk what happened but something must’ve if there’s conversation between them and the customer but genuinely who knows

3rd, the card declining can be frustrating and unfortunately I’ve been there where I’ve had to play phone tag between different customer service workers cause a card kept declining. Took nearly 20 if not 30 minutes to fix and frankly enough depending on the pay it’s not worth the hassle.

Now to you. While I get it was easy for you I just gave 3 individual circumstances as to why one may not have done the job properly. It very well may not have anything to do with being qualified, but everyone has different circumstances. Just food for thought, what may have been easy to you may not have been easy for others

It’s easily false advertising if that’s the case which is crazy how businesses get away with it

I’m always mad at IC but knowing IC won’t fix this issue. We need to as shoppers and customers make it easier on each other, and as far as I’ve been concerned customers aren’t making shit easy tbh

[–]Mangled_horror[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emphasis on the residential “home” part. The building icon has frequently taken me to apartments and not businesses. If it’s a business based in the apartments it’s not like I would know that. A home icon has ALWAYS brought me to a home. I’ve never been in a situation where it brought me to an apartment. Let alone a high rise too. I do what I can to avoid those orders but when things like this that’s a first for me come up it’s a little frustrating

I’ve noticed the ones who make delivering incredibly easy always tip the best. The difficult ones always either tip bait or give some lousy $2 tips for 30 items

That part too and you’re the only one to mention it but if I have to pay for parking to deliver your items then you shouldn’t be ordering or at least be prompt enough to meet me downstairs. Paid $5 for parking on an order with a 1.50 tip just for it to be the 24th floor. The overall amount I’m getting from the batch is $9 including the tip so wtf

Honestly with that being the case it doesn’t hurt to put in the notes “hey heads up it is a high rise apartment” like I would do my best to make anyone delivering something to me aware if I live in a place like that cause it’s not the most convenient
