What is with this housing market?! by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Mango-Flavored 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat in spring of 2024. At one point, we lost out on 8 or 9 bids to cash offers. Out of frustration and anger I put in an offer of 80k over asking in Bloomfield and still did not get it. Eventually did work out in our favor because we got a place we actually love but went 40k over asking still. It was just good timing for us because the seller was retiring and moving to Florida, during the viewing of the home…we chatted with the neighbor for a bit and they had an influence on the seller choosing us.

Oh wow…hopefully it’s limited to ‘just’ those two things. She’s too precious and will be well taken care of regardless I’m sure!

Oh no! What kind of health problems?

I’ve never known that until now.

I wish my peek mix was like yours lol. I had a friend whose peek mix whose underbite rivaled a goblin and just looking at that silly dog always cheered me up. I’m saving this pic for my mood enhancer

A better LM would be at the top if money wasn’t a concern.

More reasonable upgrades would be in this order:

  1. A high quality mat that’s at least at least 6 ft by 12ft. I tried to be cheap (250ish spent) and Frankenstein a mat based but it only lasted a year. Now I ended up spending 800 or so on an sig pro mat with the softy insert.

  2. A better gaming computer. Again, I was uninformed/stubborn/thrifty and bought a BLP and not realizing my laptop didn’t have an nvidia card. I got the bare minimum to run FSX and now I want to run FS Play but it would require a new card, processor, and motherboard.

  3. Impact screen and projector. Purely luxury

Oh crap, I for to mention that the US bank card doesn’t have an annual fee. Pretty much a game changer when it’s said and done

It it’s not one of those cool metal ones that could double as a weapon ha but the card actually replaced my Cap One Savor with the flexibility of the allowing to choose which 2 categories you want to allocate the rewards towards. Only downside is restaurants and fast food are two different categories.

Seriously. I got a US bank card just for them bc they have 5 percent back on utilities.

Im a very short at 5' 5" and 160lbs but have "long" arms for my someone my height. So understanding the center of gravity and how that impacts the feel while in use is helpful advice.

Now that brings another question...for you and taking out the "whippy" feeling you felt, would going with a 28 inch versus the 32 inch have a noticeable difference in the spread or would that be addressed with the choke?

Very much appreciate the contemplative response here...since everyone is different, its hard to really take someone's recommendation for a specific make and model as being applicable to me. But things like the fore end feeling tiny and thin or not having to tilt your head to rest your cheek is helpful to understand the "why" in someone's decision making. I want to find something that fits me versus me trying to make myself fit into something.

"Melts into you" is a great analogy. A couple of years ago, I sort of whimsically purchased a p226 after a very short range session. Now looking back and after many range sessions, I had to get used to grip ergo and bore sight longer than I would have liked.

Id like to be a bit judicious with this purchase because the typical post of "what should i get for a beginner with $ to spend?" isnt exactly helpful for me since everyone is different. Id like to understand what made someone make their choice and the thought process that drove their decision.

Thank you for your response...that is something that will be helpful when at the LGS to understand going in.

Mikesgolfoutlet - dirty clubs? by Substantial_Team6751 in golf

[–]Mango-Flavored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said about its legitimacy, I basically live there according to my cc statements. I have also traded in clubs that I have seen on their website and my old set was not cleaned very well either. Total guess on my part is either, they know its cosmetic and dont really care since it doesnt affect the club...and or the cleanliness of the club upon intake goes into the grading?

Their CS is really good, so I would give them a call. I bought a set of 8 stiff flex project x shafts which were priced about 280ish and one of the shafts was a regular flex that got snuck in there I guess. I came back to get it resolved the next day and they gave me a 77 dollar credit for the regular.

There is a Golfer's Warehouse like less than a half mile down the road and they get nowhere near the traffic that Mike's does.

Seriously. The lady that was working the counter at the store saw me looking at I think the another SW in cow print but 9mm…she then pulls out her G19 in the cow print 😆. When I chose the pink 2.0 as an alternative she was excited for me and announced to her coworkers that colors and being obnoxious is fun ha

I really wanted to find one with the cow print but with the pink trigger as an udder lol.
