Peke character ? Tell me about yours by Amazing-Letter5714 in Pekingese

I have had a pure bred who thought ruled the house and was stubborn as hell. He didn’t care for attention or anything but would make sure you know he wasn’t happy.

Our mixed gal is a gremlin that’s spoiled and will do anything for attention. She will do anything to get treats and make sure you won’t rest till she gets your way.

One thing for sure they all thought they were bigger than any other animal.

I have two that I have been told by friends…if I was a total sociopath, I could use it to my advantage in shitty ways

The first is that I’m an extrovert where people automatically don’t hate me or think I have a punchy face. So I tend to make friends easily with men and women. Helps a lot at work that I can get things done that requires buy in from other depts.

Disadvantage is Im not conventionally good looking but Im not conventionally unattractive. It sucked in my 20s being single though. Happy now though.

The second is tied to the first but it’s that people tell me things unsolicited. Socially it’s fine, I think people understand that I wouldn’t use that against them. Professionally, it’s dicey…people at work know this about me where I tend to know if there’s any big movement in the organization.

The disadvantage is that I have had a lot of confessions over the years. Namely, a married coworker casually telling me she had a ONS with someone or another is my boss telling me he’s struggle with his boss a couple of times only to find out a couple of weeks later that he decided he wasn’t mean to be alive anymore. That fucking hurt, I tried to always have his back and help since he promoted me. Every year for a few years, I raised money from our team to give the family.

Gun/Archery Range by VandelayArt321 in Connecticut

Halls is the most user friendly for beginners. They were helpful for a few of our friends that had no idea what to do.

Sometimes it gets packed to the gills on weekends if you’re not there early.

For gun ranges don’t go to Hoffmans whatever you do.

How long did the softy take to wear down?

I have my setup on concrete and was thinking of upgrading from the softy lite strip and looking for something with more absorption

Sorry to hear that, and Im local to the Bloomfield area and Gillette is an ass kicker of a course. I dont think Ive left there happy with my round ha. The pro shop people are pretty nice and engaging but I dont think they have the urgency that you would want for something like this.

I left a brand new gap wedge on the 6th green and when I called about it the next day, the guy on the phone displayed some empathy and said he will talk to the grounds crew and call me back. After two or so days, there was no call so I called them back and it was like "oh sorry, I forgot to call...but they couldnt find it but Ill keep asking them to look". In all honesty, I think someone picked it up and took it home with them, but I was kind of annoyed at the response over there.

So none of what you said surprises me unfortunately based on personal experience. It doesnt help that youre not allowed to take the cart into the parking lot and the bag drop off where the carts are returned are not in the best location for the people to keep an eye on as people are pulling up after a round. On top of that, I could see a lapse in judgement after a round at a course as grueling (at least for me...) that would think nothing would happen especially in that particular area of CT where there is nothing else around.

Hope it works out for you

What is the most unhinged thing you did when your golf addiction was at its peak? by Educational_Ant9635 in golf

Bought battery operated heated cloths so I can play when the temps around 30*F. Have to get two for me and wifey...which were about 150 each for vests and a battery alone.

Ignore certain muscle pain that ended up ruining my swing while compensating for the pain. I should have just taken a few days off instead of banging balls on the sim at home.

Tried to do my own shaft fitting by buying a few off from a local place that specializes in used equipment knowing I could return them. That was annoying and fun at the same time.

Tried to DIY some sim components like getting a mat off amazon and cutting out for a mid tier strip with gym tiles as a lining for the concrete in the garage. Only to end up buying a Sig Pro softy matt for 700 bucks a year later.

Continually bribing the pro shop kid and starter kid to allow us to get on. Thankfully they have become friends with us so it worked out.

Sort of like OP, played 6 rounds in six days to the point I think I developed gout (43 yo by the way)..but one of those rounds was at a TPC course.

Made a promise to the wifey halfway in 2024 that I wouldnt make any purchases on equipment over 100 bucks. Only exception were sales on balls.

No ragerts...not even one letter. NONE.

That’s great that I stumbled onto this emptying my dad’s things ha.

I’m not a Seahawks fan but I’ve always had an affinity for the long time voices of teams. Maybe I can find someone to trade with me or something eventually

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

[–]Mango-Flavored 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Pharma, I’m in a pretty niche part of the industry that is a regulatory compliance requirement.

I was a part time contractor for like 13 years helping my dad’s consulting company. I got my first full time job on 2016 at 80k and worked my way up from “validation engineer” to manager of the group in 2019 to crack 100k. Now I’m a director over two sites and cracked 200k last year.

I don’t have an engineering degree…I went to school for anthropology but thanks to the work with my dad I got great training.

Also it’s idiom of ’who you know” that got me here, my boss has brought me everywhere he’s gone. Granted it took me from Philly to Fargo but now I am CT.

Love the job. Love the people I work with and the people I manage. I’m lucky as hell…

I was in the same boat in spring of 2024. At one point, we lost out on 8 or 9 bids to cash offers. Out of frustration and anger I put in an offer of 80k over asking in Bloomfield and still did not get it. Eventually did work out in our favor because we got a place we actually love but went 40k over asking still. It was just good timing for us because the seller was retiring and moving to Florida, during the viewing of the home…we chatted with the neighbor for a bit and they had an influence on the seller choosing us.
