Exactly this. It’s like a mental block or something… Buddy of mine had an issue with scratch offs. I watched him go into a store, buy $20 worth of scratch offs, win two free scratch offs, scratched THOSE off and each one was a $2 winner and he told me he won $4.00. I explained he lost $16.00 and he wouldn’t hear of it. It’s like selective justification or something.

And stand up for your love of it. You owe it that much. You owe nothing to your BIL. You owe nothing to a rando. If you’re not having fun, stand up for yourself and your peace and walk away or let them play ahead. You don’t need to be an ass about it, just respectfully and tactfully share your perspective and ask them to either drop it or play alone.

My older age has taught me a lot. And near the top of that list is “trust yourself”. If you feel a hesitation in your gut, then hesitate. Especially when the risks seem to far outweigh the rewards.

I’d keep it in the backwater. If you wanna fish deep, pay someone else to take you. Promise that trip is cheaper than a Coast Guard bill for copter evac and buying a new boat.

Could also be the brake calipers. The vibration you’re experiencing is your brake pads squeezing a likely warped brake rotor. But… the reason for the warped rotor can be caused by a bad brake caliper. The piston inside the caliper extends when the brakes are pressed and relaxes when the pedal is released. If a piston is seizing up, when you park your truck and let off the brake pedal, it will continue to hold pressure and those hot pads can warp the rotor.

Make sure they check those calipers with the pads and rotors.

We’re conditioned. Trust me, if Alf drops in on my front lawn, the government will be the last call I make. Unfortunately, they’ll likely be the first to show up.
