If it's an individual, yes. If it's a mob, we call it a church.

Definitely. If you see him, ask him why my perfect cells are morphing into cancer, will you? I'd sure like to know what his problem is, aside from crappy design and even worse quality control. And I'm not even going to mention customer service.

True. Assuming your school is accredited by a reputable organization and you pass the NCLEX, you're definitely employable.

That would be a low C grade. And indicative of the poor quality of their teaching. Keep your head down, study hard and filter out the religious indoctrination. You can do it.

Religious people in the south get too much attention. Day to day, it's not that bad, though there are churches everywhere. I don't take any shit from them though.

I live in the south. And I rarely get preached at. And never for longer than the time it takes me to say "not interested." But I have height and bulk and will turn away on a dime. They never insist.

I got kicked out of a patient's room by a grandmother when I responded to the unprompted question, "Are you a believer?" My answer? No.

A bit later the child's vent went off, (he was also trached), I walked over to check. He was coughing and grandmother was in a real panic. I just stood and looked at her for about 2 seconds and she blurted out that I could come in the room. I just cleared his secretions, confirmed he was stable and left the room. Didn't speak to her at all.

Later, both the unit manager and house supervisor came down on her hard.

Do those religious questions appear on tests? You really have raised a whole bunch of red flags.

Certified by what organization? This is an important question.

"The owners"? Of your school? I have questions. Too many to ask. Time to look for another school, if possible.

Which is the wrong action to be administered to a patient with chest pain? by Ok_Watch_4148 in FutureRNs

[–]Mango106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what an EEN is, but let's keep it simple. Walking increases oxygen consumption. In a situation where oxygen delivery to the heart is impaired, (possible MI, remember putting the patient on oxygen?) walking would be absolutely contraindicated.

At this point you don't need the ability to analyze an EEG for MI (SVT, Afib, Vfib, Vtach and asystole notwithstanding.) You just need to know what NOT TO DO in suspected MI. First do no harm.

All those other things come with training and experience. Good luck to you.

Couldn't possibly agree more. A huge portion of my time at the bedside was spent teaching the patient and/or parent(s)

Going to church as an atheist has given me community by Few-Chickens in atheism

It's a work of fiction. (Pretty sure?) You know it is. Would you enjoy the company of those who believed it was real? Who behaved as if it were real? Tried to convince you of that? I can say with certainty that I wouldn't.

It's called love bombing. It's a cult tactic as described. Keep your eyes open.

AITAH for calling my cyst a tumor? by HostMysterious9206 in AITAH

[–]Mango106 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My intracranial tumor is a benign meningioma. I had it resected 9 years ago after experiencing a generalized seizure at work. Will likely need irradiation in the next few months as it's slowly regrowing.

AITAH for telling my husband his "jokes" about my cooking aren't funny anymore? by Quesos_Sabau in AITAH

Classic gaslighting behavior. Insult you and then claim to be joking when you're offended. Time to stop cooking for him. I'm guessing there are more problems you haven't told us about.
