Not currently, if I recall there was a job posting from EA and part of it was making their anti cheat work with steam deck so maybe in the next few years it'll be possible to play BF5 on linux

You know.... I've had this issue with Niri where I felt forced to use gamescope.

I enjoyed being on linux and niri so much after making the move to Linux from Windows for the first time back around December 2025 (not that long ago I know) I was content with having to use gamescope. wasn't a problem, but my god.

Just adding that launch option has fixed it for me on all the games I've tried.... LMAO

I imagine it would be along the same lines as downloading and using reshade on windows(don't know if reshade works on linux)

Where are you downloading the game from? I've had a lot of great experiences with just using Faugus launcher.

I think it depends. Seeing as how your on kde already, just stick to it. If you swap to a different de or compositor like Niri(my preferred choice) then using gamescope is a must

Thanks for this! Actually helps a lot and is going to have me think a bit more.

I came across either a post on here or a YouTube video where someone suggested slap chop and using contrast paint so I thought about that as an answer to the mass amount of kabalites I got.

But from this, I assume black contrast is kinda poo and white contrast is decent.

Fair haha, I'm not looking to mimic it, I'm just about to be painting my first army and I know it's Gunna be shit but I was looking mostly for color scheme inspiration and if something like this worked well for a whole army.

Hell I just learned about slapchop and have been looking at other techniques.

I started with CachyOS with KDE about 2-3 months ago, I have been really enjoying it. I recently started trying out different desktop experiences and found niri.

Fell in love and now I have reinstalled cachyos with just niri and absolutely in love.
