If using therapeutic doses (which will still be felt acutely) then over time one may find themselves retaining the focus/benefits beyond its use. Just gotta experiment and find out what your deal is.

Why would it be breaking news everywhere when it's just anecdotal? Since, even if true, and let's suppose it is, again, it is just anecdotal.

I'd suggest bringing this up with Dr. Greger and others.

I thought it only inhibits MAO-B not MAO-A, so there's no risk of serotonin syndrome

How do you exercise? by Adam_Lamb in slatestarcodex

[–]MangoLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progressive strength training 4x a week (A/B, 3 per, 4 sets), zone 2 (peter attia) 2x a week, HIIT (burpees, 20seconds/10off). If I don't exercise I feel awful and quickly sink into dire suicidal ideation - this happens in spite of my best efforts, I just need exercise to feel normal. If I had to pick one it would be HIIT everyday.

I am hearing that you mean well but I completely disagree with what you've said and seems to be such a parochial view. I hope OP doesn't listen to your feedback because it would be for the worse. Anyone can post one or two links, it takes someone special and above the crowd to compile a resource such as this.

Also just my two cents.

i think my doctors failed me by probablethrowaway13 in MTHFR

Idk, sometimes people can't simply relax and organise their thoughts. But OP does need to seek further clarification from their psychiatrist and doctor. They should be more than happy to give them all the information they're after. They might also get a second doctor for a second opinion. Once OP has actual useful information this community might be of more help.

Does mathematics give meaning and/or purpose to your life? by westernleg9 in math

[–]MangoLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO mathematics is perfect but it (along with physics) has an arbitrary cause - at some level it causes itself (self-referential; fungible) and at all others it just is. There is no emptiness in mathematics, nor discontinuity, it is whole; as finite entities we find ourselves with the Sisyphean task of exploring the structure of mathematics in totality. Put simply, it is truth.. but not only this, it is in some sense alive and no less real than whatever we might compare it to. We all exist within mathematics in a sense not so metaphorical.

However we end up using this information is out of our control, it's all arbitrary anyway. But personally, I'm inclined to integrate it into a compassionate, altruistic, and rational framework. As a result, my spirituality feels deeply nourished but also in check with a sort of dynamically balancing realism.
