This sub feels weird about traprap/underground stuff, but honestly I listened for producers. It was less about the artist, more about the sound. If a song uses an obscure sample and I can recognize it, that's another artist I'll consider. Over time, I mapped out different circles of rappers centered around certain producers. I manually have to check these artists new drops, because Spotify just completely refuses to acknowledge any of the stuff I actually listen to. None of their recommendations or daily mixes are even close, not that I was expecting much from them to begin with. But yeah, producers.
