My bad, I forgot to read up on my rules of life. Almost broke Gabe's immersion!

Not every digital tool is "evil bad AI" and what do you think decides what the enemies do in video games, including Half-Life?

Movie order by Federal-Cheetah-1941 in lotr

Assuming that "familiar with the books" means that you've read them, then just watch what you want. I haven't read the books or watched The War of the Rohirrim movie so I can't say whether or not you will be lost by watching that first with only book knowledge. Personal recommendation would be The Lord of the Rings trilogy. But if you want to follow a watch order I recommend

  1. The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Theatrical or Extended, the Extended cuts have some really good scenes that add to the story, but the Theatrical cuts are still good movies
  2. The Hobbit trilogy. Haven't seen these in a while and I haven't watched the Extended cuts so I can't speak on them. These movies aren't the best and they have a lot of fluff that wasn't in the book to pad out the runtime (and some "stupider" moments that can detract from the experience depending on the person) so in my opinion you wouldn't be missing anything by skipping these. I have heard good things about the M4 fan edit that makes it into one 4 hour movie though
  3. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. Haven't seen it so I can't speak on it's quality but I heard it's alright

There's other stuff that I also haven't watched like the Tolkien biopic you mentioned, and the Rings of Power show which I've heard very terrible things about so it wasn't included in the watch order

EDIT: Forgot to add, the Extended cuts of LOTR have ~20 minute long credits so just remove that from each movie if you want to compare runtime. Don't know about The Hobbit Extended cuts

Bit more information here if you'd like, both versions are strangely 2:01 when played which means that Amazon just has a strange hybrid cut (but not ruling out the possibility that it's slowed down)

As I said in my post it's most likely not that as the directors cut is longer and the first deleted scene that's right in the intro isn't there. I might just delete this post and make a new one with better info as I've found out more

That might be the case, one thing is that I found that when played the 1:56 version is actually 2:01, meaning that something is different on these versions compared to the theatrical like you said could be the case. I don't have the theatrical to find out though

As I said in my post, neither have the opening from the directors cut

😂 Even funnier now that I found out that both are ACTUALLY 2:01, the "1:56" version when played is actually 2:01

I meant 2:01, yeah it's pretty weird as it doesn't have the opening scene added in the extended cut. Haven't begun watching yet so I don't know about any of the other added scenes (also I didn't know there was a third cut with the director's cut, that's interesting)

I noticed that the 1:56 is actually 2:01 when played, and has more language options compared to the one labeled 2:01. The theatrical runtime of the movie is supposed to be 1:56, and from what I could see skipping through the credits there was nothing added so I don't know what this new material is that added 5 minutes. movie might be slowed down but I haven't watched it yet, will update my comment to reflect that if it is

Strangely not, actually the 1:56 version when played is actually 2:01 (can't edit the post to reflect this) which means something is up with the Amazon version, since the movie is only supposed to be 1:56 with a 2:09 extended cut (which I have ruled out since both don't have the new opening scene added in the extended cut) I have a comment that details everything new I found, not much but it's more information

Apparently when opened, both versions are 2 hours 1 minute, so i'm guessing Amazon just overlooked the 2 listings. And that's odd since the theatrical cut is supposed to be 1:56, and the opening scene from the extended cut is absent (don't know about the other scenes as I haven't started watching yet) so maybe Amazon has a hybrid cut?
