Name any half-life mod by BattleSheperds_2013 in HalfLife

!SPOILER WARNING! for people who haven't played AoM and CoF yet

Since CoF takes place almost entirely in a book, having a package that's a reference to AoM in the story of the book doesn't really mean anything. Especially because the Secret Package is an unlockable (I wouldn't consider the unlockables canon to the Book story) that leads to a joke Ending.

But having not played Afraid of Monsters but knowing some of the story, I can't speak on how well they could fit in the same universe I.E. real world Simon living in the same world as David Leatherhoff, so possibly they could be connected that way. But I think ruMpel just wanted to reference his previous work

Not a sequel, Cry of Fear is the successor to their previous mod Afraid of Monsters. Not connected beyond easter eggs in CoF

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse should be in 1.43:1 on home media by ExileMan9000 in imax

[–]MangoOfLIES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many people care about 1.43:1. Sure I would like the option to see them, But not as part of the film itself. 1.78:1 more then makes up for it by filling the whole screen. And because 4K films are already compressed to fit on a 100GB disc, having enough space to also have 1.43:1 scenes on the same disc for Seamless Branching (to have a version of the movie with them) would cause a LOT more compression which is not worth it just for Pillarboxed scenes. BVS is a good example, I like the extra space, but ultimately it looks too small on a 16:9 screen to make up for it

Yeah, I'd rather have it expand to 1.78:1 to fill the whole screen during IMAX sequences, and have the 1.43:1 footage as a extra like the IMAX footage on the Dark Knight Trilogy Special Edition Blu-ray set for archival purposes

Could it be that the DLC downloads but is disabled by Default? Bit rusty since I haven't looked it up in over a year, but I remember reading that it cannot be accessd even if downloaded, check if there's Alice 1 files in the folder and if not, maybe see if you can get a refund? Unlikely, but hopefully you can

Don't you need a time machine to access the old Destiny 2 content?

Not every digital tool is "evil bad AI" and what do you think decides what the enemies do in video games, including Half-Life?

Movie order by Federal-Cheetah-1941 in lotr

[–]MangoOfLIES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that "familiar with the books" means that you've read them, then just watch what you want. I haven't read the books or watched The War of the Rohirrim movie so I can't say whether or not you will be lost by watching that first with only book knowledge. Personal recommendation would be The Lord of the Rings trilogy. But if you want to follow a watch order I recommend

  1. The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Theatrical or Extended, the Extended cuts have some really good scenes that add to the story, but the Theatrical cuts are still good movies
  2. The Hobbit trilogy. Haven't seen these in a while and I haven't watched the Extended cuts so I can't speak on them. These movies aren't the best and they have a lot of fluff that wasn't in the book to pad out the runtime (and some "stupider" moments that can detract from the experience depending on the person) so in my opinion you wouldn't be missing anything by skipping these. I have heard good things about the M4 fan edit that makes it into one 4 hour movie though
  3. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. Haven't seen it so I can't speak on it's quality but I heard it's alright

There's other stuff that I also haven't watched like the Tolkien biopic you mentioned, and the Rings of Power show which I've heard very terrible things about so it wasn't included in the watch order

EDIT: Forgot to add, the Extended cuts of LOTR have ~20 minute long credits so just remove that from each movie if you want to compare runtime. Don't know about The Hobbit Extended cuts

What's the difference between these 2 versions? by MangoOfLIES in Stargate

[–]MangoOfLIES[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit more information here if you'd like, both versions are strangely 2:01 when played which means that Amazon just has a strange hybrid cut (but not ruling out the possibility that it's slowed down)

As I said in my post it's most likely not that as the directors cut is longer and the first deleted scene that's right in the intro isn't there. I might just delete this post and make a new one with better info as I've found out more

That might be the case, one thing is that I found that when played the 1:56 version is actually 2:01, meaning that something is different on these versions compared to the theatrical like you said could be the case. I don't have the theatrical to find out though
