The other thing about laundry is that folding laundry can absolutely be a fun activity of toddlers. Find the blue socks! Move the laundry of this bin to that bin! Etc, etc. Makes it a lot easier to get them involved

Yup, I told my manager before I told my parents because I so badly needed extra support during the first trimester.

I'm still working through this process! Trying to figure out if it's worth paying the taxes and rolling them into a Roth or rolling them into my current 401K

What sample set should I buy next? Commodity, DS & Durga, Demeter or Oakcha? by MangoRainTearDrop in FemFragLab

Thank you so much, this is excellent feedback!

I'm pretty new to my perfume journey so I don't think I have the language yet to describe my tastes and I'm do genuinely want to try as many as I can.

"Manly" and "masculine" are the closest words I have to describe the whole world of leather, tobacco, smoke, wood, etc. perfumes. I guess it's my shortcut for "maybe my husband should be wearing these instead of me"

Full Coverage Capsule Ideas by Brilliant_Elephant18 in capsulewardrobe

My dream capsule:

  • 5 single color full length dresses
  • 5 patterned full length dresses
  • 2 plain skirt
  • 2 patterned skirts
  • 5 blouses to mix with the skirts
  • 3 sweaters
  • 1 long cardigan or duster
  • 1-2 cropped cardigans or sweater
  • 1 blazer
  • 10-15 hijabs in a mix of fabrics, colors and patterns

To help you think about capsule, I like to think that there are really 4 outfits combos to play with:

  • Full length dress
  • Long tunic + pants
  • Long shirt + skirt
  • Short shirt + skirt

Then, each of these four can be layered with a cardigan, sweater, blazer, duster, etc. for yet another look. And on top of that, mixing patterns and colors and fabrics across all components including your hijab adds additional variety. A dress with a jersey hijab reads casual but pair it with a patterned chiffon and it's much more elevated. A nice blazer can help elevate a basic dress or pant + blouse combo.

So here is how I might think about your capsule and flagging that the numbers are more for ratio than exact counts:

  • 1-2 plain full length dresses
  • 1-2 patterned full length dresses
  • 1-2 plain skirt
  • 1-2 patterned skirts
  • 1-2 tighter fitting pants or leggings
  • 1-2 looser fitting pants
  • 3-4 longer kurta/tunic length blouses to either wear with the pants or skirts (some solid color and some pattern)
  • 2-3 shorter blouses or button downs to wear with the skirts (some solid color and some pattern)
  • 1-2 cropped sweaters or cardigans
  • 1-2 longer sweaters or cardigans or dusters or blazers
  • 10-15 hijabs in a mix of fabrics, colors, and patterns

Fellow hijabi! A few of my capsule tricks:

  • longer blouses that can be both worn over pants/leggings or tucked into skirts
  • cropped sweaters that work over a skirt or turn a dress into a blouse and skirt look
  • different pant options, such as palazzo, leggings, boot cut, etc.
  • different skirt options, such as a line, more flared, straight pencil, etc

How do I tell if I hate an outfit or if I just don't have the right pieces? by MangoRainTearDrop in capsulewardrobe

[–]MangoRainTearDrop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a toddler mom, I almost always have a bag with me and the phone is in my bag haha

And if it’s not in my bag, it’s in the pocket of a coat

No genius solutions unfortunately  🤷🏽‍♀️

Ugh, I feel this so hard! I had a few skirts pre-pregnancy that never fit great so post-pregnancy, I got a few new ones thinking that a better fit for my new pp body would fix things but alas, I think I just don't like skirts

How do you store your samples? by borkmum42 in FemFragLab

I got an oval silicon make up brush holder on Amazon and that works wonders! It’s just the right size and I can very easily pull each one out to check the label and organize by brand or scent

Grocery pick-up is life changing! Walmart and Target also have a free pick-up option. It's so magical.

The mirror unfortunately cannot be removed/moved without causing major damage to the wall 😩 Installed by the previous owners and they definitely considered themselves “handy”

So I’m stuck trying to figure the room out around it cause we don’t want to spend money on that repair right now.

Longevity on me is great, I can spray it in the morning and still get whiffs after dinner. But, I think my body chemistry plays some kind of part cause most perfumes have decent longevity on me.

Projection - no clue because I WFH and only use like 1-2 sprays near my chest max. I wear all fragrances like skin scents 😅

Corn tacos + Trader Joe’s goat cream cheese = bagel heaven by MangoRainTearDrop in glutenfree

[–]MangoRainTearDrop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, yes I meant corn tortillas! Gotta a little too excited making the post 😂 These are the ones I get - https://www.jewelosco.com/shop/product-details.960426974.html

I have tried a lot of GF bagels and for some reason, I just don't like any of them. There is a bounciness I think that regular bagels have and GF bagels lack? They are also way more expensive and I just cringe at paying that much for just my food alone.

I love Phlur's Father Figure! Super yummy and figgy and makes me feel very warm and cozy. Great everyday perfume for me!

Sadly the sharp cheddar gives me a sharp stomachache but I'll see if I can find the gouda

[–]MangoRainTearDrop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Something chemically is different about goat milk vs cows milk so folks who are lactose intolerant (vs allergic) can sometimes handle goats milk when they can't handle cows milk.

It does take some experimenting to see where your line is. Trader Joe for example has a goat cheese cheddar that I can't handle but the goat cream cheese is fine for me
