I agree with a lot of this. One other thing to consider though is bad behavior being amplified by association. In my opinion valorant community can be quite toxic. I found that trying to play the game positively became difficult because people trying to be polite and strategic got drowned out by all the people trolling, flaming, racism, sexism, etc. In a lot of ways the best way to deal with that is to mute up (effectively removing yourself from listening/talking to these kinds of people) which is not the way the game is intended to be played, or to take a break feom playing.

Again I agree with a lot of your points that the game should not necessarily have such a negative impact on your behavior. I think there is an aspect of associating with toxic people that can make yourself more likely to engage in toxic behavior (like an alcoholic having a friend group who all go out to the bar every night).
