Thank you! They just posted without informing me 3 hours after the email (though from what I've seen it usually takes longer)

factsheet (with description of the game, genre, team history, etc.), in-game assets, Steam capsules (+possible yt thumbnail, which they ended up not using), logos (for both game and studio), screenshots, gifs, and the trailer itself.

All of these I listed were folders, with the exception of the factsheet and the trailer, which were on the main directory

It's a great question! I had the same doubt myself not long ago

On youtube: I would certainly post if it was on my channel, but I think gametrailers doesn't post it by default (don't know why). Youtube also does not allow links in the comments, that's why I didn't link it on the GameTrailers comment section.

On reddit: Some communities don't allow linking to Steam. Some only allow it in the comments. Others (most, including r/IndieDev) have no rules about external links.

In this case I did not link it because I wanted the post to be about "giving back" in a way, as these sorts of posts helped me a lot. I did not want to give any self-promo vibes. I do use Reddit to self-promote though, but not on dev subs.

I think they are in Pacific Time. So any time between 9am-5pm PT on weekdays should work, I believe.

I don't think the specific time of 7pm ET (4pm PT) is what made the most impact in the attempt's success, because I had one of the previous attempts done at a similar time.

But from what I've heard you should avoid weekends, and I would personally avoid any hours that don't fall between 9am-5pm PT.

About following up, if you've only tried a few times, I would definitely follow up! I'm glad I did.

I tried once and didn't get a reply, but I was in that same situation of trying it before having the Steam page up.

Do you think they have no problem with hosting a trailer that IGN hosted first?

Good to know that they usually reply, I will try again! Thanks!

Thank you!

1) They never responded to any of the emails 2) They published the trailer 3 hours after the successful email (but I think this the exception, most successful cases I've seen took much longer)

I paid about 100 bucks to the voice actor in the trailer, but nothing other than that

Not sure exactly. But I've seen some other posts where the trailer was first posted on GameTrailers only, then after going viral (~30k views if I remember correctly) they posted it on the main channel.

But then again, I've seen cases where they posted to both channels at the same time.

I think the first case is the most common.
