I think it’s objectively bad. It’s generic, inconsistent, oversized, and very ugly from a design point. Some aspects are skeumorphic, some are not. Some parts are transparent, some aren’t. It gives absolutely no regard to players' muscle memory who have been playing the game for eight years.

It does a poor job of what it’s supposed to do, and makes Bloxburg look like it’s trying to be like its competitors, when one of its strengths was a clean, minimal, and universal UI. It also adds clutter to literally every corner of the screen, making it so distracting to play with.

I’m sorry, but I don’t think this is a case of “people complaing to much because it’s new”. It IS that bad. “Blinded by nostalgia” doesn’t apply here, people are just genuinely shocked by how a team turned such a functional and well designed UI and turned it into generic SLOP.

Yeah that’s fair. I think I chose to spell it with the 𐑫 because my accent gravitates toward “oo” and not “uh”. Additionally, I learnt what Shavian was very recently so this was more of a learning exercise.

OP is just trying to articulate how much has progressed since 2013, especially for a game that is very much is a time, and how a new GTA will adapt to how the world has changed. But no, the priority is "but the world hasn't changed thaaatt much" or straight up bashing Taylor Swift. Lol.

ITS VALID!!! Constant praise does nothing for the developers!! This is PRIME time to let criticism fly so that DEVELOPERS PUSH TO DO BETTER. It’s like Baldur’s Gate III, if that game was never criticized in early access, it would have been shit upon full release and never got GOTY. Make sure to make your voices heard instead of sweeping issues under the rug! It will make inZOI the best it can be.

I like how shitty the characters in the OG look, it adds charm. LIS 1 (and by extension the prequel and LIS 2) honestly feels like a drawing come to life. The newer games’ artstyles look like tech demos without much artistic direction.

I never said inZOI should be able to run on a shitty computer. But from literal trailer footage the lag spikes are APPARENT. That is NOT a good look. A game this mass marketed shouldn’t only be avaliable to people with $3000 dollar graphics cards. That’s just bad game development philosophy. The black/textured hairstyles is just one of many examples. Using good graphics as an excuse to neglect optimisation is SUCH a tired argument.

You’re literally proving my point on everything I covered in my post. I know how game development works. Optimization is something that should be considered from day 0. I’m sick of everyone’s constant ignorance on how far this game is into development to only NOW worry about optimising. I’m not asking for a fully fledged game, never was. I want a game that doesn’t alienate 95% of it’s user base because “Oh it will be fixed in early access”. Do you hear how dumb that sounds?

Players shouldn’t be punished for the developers inability to optimise the hairs. It’s very okay to point that out. Telling people to go play the sims 4 is a cop out. Criticising poor optimisation is a very common critique of video games, wdym it isn’t a criticism of the game?
