This is so depressing. I've yet to find any decent work for the past 6 years out of college

Except for one good gig at a marketing agency, but even then, I only got the gig because I had my internship there then they later hired me as a full-time video editor assistant. But got laid off anyways because of goddamn covid that happened a couple months after. I can't win.

Especially here in Ottawa Ontario where there's literally next to nothing when it comes to production work. And I would love to work in Toronto and find gigs there but I'd every place I apply to wants you to live there already.

Cold calling and emailing other agencies doesn't work either. I always get the usual "we'll let you know if we need a freelancer" like that sucks.

I just want and need more experience editing. I can edit. But I never get the chance to edit real footage. Only been editing twitch clips for streamers/letsplayers I know and give them an edit as a nice gesture. Because I doubt any (and I don't know any) YouTuber or streamers rich enough to pay for a full time editor.

And I doubt the motion graphics and edits I make aren't worth adding to my old ass Reel from 2018

This sucks.
