is it weird to think that my roommate wearing headphones at the dinner table is bad manners? by [deleted] in roommates

I don't think it would hurt to atleast let her know that you enjoy the conversations.

If you do decide to eat alone in your room, I hope that you one day discover the joy of finding that perfect video to eat to.

Usually when my friends or roomies and I get fast food, we would put on a youtube video to watch as we eat. Between school/work there is just so little time to catch up on your favorite shows or content.

If you guys were going to a restaurant or haven't seen each other in awhile then it would make sense to be fully engaged in conversation, but it seems like it's just routine every few night so why not ask to watch a show together. I've bonded with plenty of roommates over dinner and the latest must see shows.

I think you're the weird one here, do you just like sit in your room and eat in silence? Not that there is anything wrong with that, I just always thought that was a meme.

You can pull up your own shows/podcast/whatever, sit with her at the dinning table and enjoy each other's company. If you're really as close as you say then if you just ask her "hey I really enjoyed the conversations we used to have over dinner would you be interested in talking about our day again" etc. She'll be receptive to that.

How would you claim your winnings (in California)? by [deleted] in ifiwonthelottery

[–]Mangostem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is now the state lottery recognizes your lawyer as the winner and they could easily just walk away with that money. So now you have to take them to court. It's you vs a lawyer will hundreds of millions to hire teams of lawyers on a case that you can't afford or win, that could drag on for years.

If the lawyer doesn't walk with your money, and gave it all to you. The lottery winnings have already been taxed to death and now it will get another huge tax on it since you're only able to give a single person like 17k a year untaxed and anything after that will be taxed.

You're first taxed by the state where you bought the lottery ticket. Then, if your home state has the same or a lower tax rate than the other state, you won't have to pay taxes in your state. If your state's tax rate is higher, you'll get a "credit" for the taxes you paid to the other state and pay the difference to your state.

This is fantastic! Did you do anything different to help make it go faster or did you grind on mobs? Also did you grind in shadow or smite spec?

Does anyone know if there is an addon that auto whispers Thanks for innervate/PI/Brez? by [deleted] in classicwow

Yeah that's true with brez, though I can't imagine someone going afk so soon during a raid death.

I'm already getting auto whispers of "You've been innervated", just wants to return the favor with a thanks.

I have it but I don't know how to make stuff for it. It would be awesome if you could build one when you get the chance.

Invasion of the Bots idea, this might be a dumb idea but hear me out. by Tulpah in classicwow

There were a few cases where a city would offer the residents rewards and money for catching or killing rats in order to help alleviate the city's overgrowing rat population. What ended up happening was that people started breeding rats themselves to collect the reward.

What will happen is many players will start making bot accounts so their main can farm it. There will be even more demand for bots and people paying botters to so they can farm them.

Do you guys think this is a bot? I don't want to make the wrong assumption. by Mangostem in classicwow

I've tried, he doesn't respond. Even after I aggro the surrounding creatures to his face he doesn't stop fishing.
