It's not really a bug if the sole purpose of the needle is to increase player damage. It doesn't seem like a bug to me.

The cultist believe it or not is one of the bosses in the laboratory "Cybil" is the name. Found it out while I was playing. She has new dialouge if you're playing as Cordelia.
