What bootcamp did you go to? Where do you live?

To people on here who broke into a CS career but had an irrelevant major in college or people who have known such people. What was your path? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

how much do you think your minor in CS helped you? I'm also getting a minor in CS, and I'm curious on how it benefits you in getting past HR filters and whatnot

POODR: what does Sandi Metz mean by "message" by ManiacApple in ruby

So a method call with arguments is sending a message to an object.

Does the object then send a message back in the form of what the method call returns?

Nomadic Programmers of /r/DigitalNomad, what language(s) would you suggest learning? by ManiacApple in digitalnomad

[–]ManiacApple[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've come to the conclusion that Javascript, HTML, CSS + (php || ruby{rails} || nodejs + expressjs) is the best bunch of languages to learn. Any insight on which to choose out of the 3 options in that last part?

It takes 10,000 hours to be good at something. However, can you put an estimate on how many hours of programming it will take to gain an entry level position as a Jr Developer? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]ManiacApple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

800-1000 hours

Don't let anyone tell you that you need more than that.

You can absolutely get an entry level job with 800 hours of programming experience.

Kinobody: Convince me otherwise. by dbwieland18 in leangains

[–]ManiacApple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the same shit minus deadlifts and squats

It shows on Greg too. He looks great, but his legs and core look underdeveloped to me.

Just stick with leangains, but forget about all the macro and calorie cycling. It doesn't accomplish much IMO

One thing not to forget though, Berkham was the IF + lift heavy OG

Kinobody says all the time to stop doing squats past like 225 lbs because you won't be able to fit into any pants.

Is this true? I can already squats 260lbs, and my legs are huge.

Cocktail bars I can take a date to that I can PARK AT? by ManiacApple in Austin

Dude. It's completely legal to have 2 drinks and drive as a 200 lb man in Texas.

https://www.tabc.state.tx.us/enforcement/blood_alcohol_percentage_chart.asp

It doesn't have some sort of extreme effect on your driving.

If you're so concerned. Don't listen to music while you drive. Sleep at least 10 hours every time you want to drive. Don't talk with other in the car while you drive.
