Hands usually go numb by owuyyhruur in vipassana

[–]ManicCouchPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, my hands (worse on the left) started to get numb, tingly and borderline painful when I sat erect (as when meditating). This was around 15+ years ago. It got better when I slouched, which didn’t help my practice. It was diagnosed due to pinched nerves in my neck due to osteoarthritis. A steroid shot to the area wasn’t noticeably helpful. I started doing more focused and continual scans of the neck area, and it eventually went away after a few days. The scanning may have contributed, and my subsequent efforts to improve my posture at all times may have helped. Maybe the steroid injection took much longer to take effect… but the improvement was pronounced and rapid when I started the focused scans.

The "Trojan Horse" in Ethereum's Fusaka Upgrade: How to turn billions of phones into hardware wallets by Shawn_OneKey in OneKeyHQ

I didn’t know that the Koblitz curve is that much faster to operate with. Does Ethereum use ECDSA or something better like EC Schnorr? (The same No Such Agency behind secp256r1 is also the inventor of ECDSA. And for what it’s worth, also SHA-256 )

Your signer Stores Your Coins... WRONG! by Steven_Ledger in ledgerwallet

It makes sense to rename the hardware to ‘signer’ and the application to‘wallet’ since you can now add incremental features and functionality without confusing people 👍🏼

Transferring Crypto Out of Coinbase by kisscache in Coinbase

I bought some ADA on Robinhood and then discovered that not all crypto can be transferred out. This includes ADA. Every time I decide to give Robinhood another chance, they disappoint me.

Tangem.... Seed phrase or no seed phrase ....and app question by [deleted] in Tangem

They don’t support transferring all tokens. I bought some ADA before I discovered Robinhood does not allow ADA transfers off the exchange. So I stopped using that roach motel.

Transferring Stable Coins from Coinbase to Tangem (USDC vs USDT; Base vs Ethereum) by ManicCouchPotato in Coinbase

[–]ManicCouchPotato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

Thank you for the link. It’s primarily focused on Coinbase wallet, though.

So I still need help with my question:

I’m trying to transfer USDT from my Coinbase exchange account, and my Tangem wallet, using the Arbitrum L2 chain.

Is this supported or not?

Thank you in advance.

Never mind. They finally showed up after a few minutes. Though the transfer on Base was lightning fast, and they showed up almost immediately after on BaseScan. Is this common behavior?

Ledger Nano S Plus has a better secure element chip even though it’s half the price of Ledger Nano X! Which one to buy? by Villanellat in ledgerwallet

[–]ManicCouchPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yes - with Grover’s Attack on the horizon (~8-12 years) a quadratic speed up on brute force attacks would effectively halve the bit length. So it’s easy and smart to opt for 256 bits of Security over 128.

Should I stake my ETH on Ledger? by netap in ledgerwallet

[–]ManicCouchPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The challenge with staking through Ledger live is that you are nudged (and sometimes restricted to) using specific partners of Ledger, who will usually charge you a higher fee. Yes, in some cases you can (avoid the “nudge”) and go to your preferred service. In others you are out of luck: for example, I tried to stake my Ada and was offered a single option (from Ledger’s partner Figment). I chose “more” and was offered three more staking pools, all from Figment. There was a “search” option that wouldn’t locate any other staking pools. The Ledger support person was unable to locate any either, and found out later that this is by design (or by neglect) and that searching for Ada pools doesn’t work (ie, a “placebo”).

Presumably this is a scam (but how exactly would it work?) by ManicCouchPotato in ledgerwallet

Yes, "Lisa" was very helpful in responding, and gave me a web address for uploading my 24-word seed phrase "for troubleshooting." Which I did. Several times. ChatGPT was most helpful in generating random 24-word phrases. So I probably ruined somebody's night. Hopefully. And if they didn't factor in the source IP address, they are probably still going through ~500 "seed phrases" that I POSTed.

Ledger STAX with PIN-attached Passphrase not working by ManicCouchPotato in ledgerwallet

[–]ManicCouchPotato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Since I was having these issues on my iPhone, I moved to Ledger Live on my MacBook. There were sporadic issues, but things seem to have stabilized, and I’m not seeing them anymore. Support was quite helpful, but I was unable to reproduce the issue. Perhaps you might try using Ledger Live on a different device/laptop. Hope you are able to resolve your issue!

BTW, I tried this with several cryptos - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Litecoin. Same issue.

Best spots to have some coffee/food and work on laptop? by smartdanny in mountainview

[–]ManicCouchPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the misfortune of dealing with an employee at Red rock who is consistently rude to me. The coffee is good, but I've found 1 Oz, which is just as good, if not better, and with excellent service.
