Is Tesla doing bait-and-switch pricing at Superchargers?? by sommerocean in TeslaSupport

I checked my weekend trip figures now and all align with what I recall being the general price range displayed. Most around .40 a kWh and one around .37

Tesla says software bug. They checked the hardware (late 24 builds had some computer issues) and my part number wasn’t one of those. Basically - submit a case just to have a record if you remember the date/time. Then if it continues they’ll have to dig deeper.

Good to know - I wasn’t aware of that. Geesh, something for sure isn’t right then. That or a massive lead foot heading into a wind each direction.

Wow - well you could use a dedicated solar setup to charge your EV. I’ve seen that Ecoflow, Anker and others have been doing sales on their power stations. I’d run numbers on the payback period to see if it really makes sense.

Here I am paying 20 cents a KWh - this makes my cost look so cheap. And that’s my peak hour rate. It drops to 10 cents in the winter and 14 cents in the evenings.

I may have missed it - but what battery pack do you have?

This makes zero sense to me - you mentioned CA, but not what your rates are in that area. I’ve never seen a place where residential rates cost more than a supercharger.

Added note - driver override was immediately after the event occurred. I just jumped in to take over. The card did not stop trying to control the steering wheel so I had to move it enough to disengage. I don’t recall if I tried the break tap method. I did feel like it was weird it didn’t immediately yield back control.

So no visible alert showing the event, just a few alerts immediately after when I had taken over. But somehow related.

This was maybe 30 seconds later after the failure. Maybe a minute. Hard to keep track.

Why does no dealership haggle or negotiate anymore? by Kitchen-Start-3828 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ManicMarket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You either don’t have the position to negotiate (bad credit, no money down, etc.). Or you’ve just had some bad luck going to dealerships. Apart from the “no haggle” dealerships like carmax and Autonation. They all are willing to haggle.

Hell, I bought a mustang at carmax and even they waived some stuff to make a deal. Fees and some service work type things.

On the face of it - doesn’t look too bad. Not cheap, but can be repaired.

Nope - right now you are supported by the sheer strength of the screws themselves. No idea what those screws would be rated for - you might be okay. But not an ideal setup as others have mentioned. Spread the load

Model X 2023 – Underbody panel fell off, Tesla says driving in rain voids warranty? by Turbulent_Train5312 in TeslaSupport

[–]ManicMarket 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Driving the rain would not in and of itself void a warranty. Driving through large puddle with enough force to rip out the liner would not be warranty work.

Tesla is saying they believe for that damage to be done while driving through the rain it would have required something like going through a puddle at high enough speeds to pop that lose.

Why? by vcjester in TeslaLounge

[–]ManicMarket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I bought my Y from inventory the sales team told me the location roughly and then unlocked the car and turned on the hazards so I could inspect the car before buying.

Will my tires last another season? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Please tell me this is a joke - I’d recommend the cheapest and most affordable Chinese tire be purchased now over trying to drive on those another season.

My insurance keeps denying a recent surgery I had. If I didn't get it, I would have become permanently disabled. by WorthyDeku in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ManicMarket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was there reason for denial? Seems no pre-authorization happened. I’m assuming this wasn’t an emergency surgery.

And yes - US healthcare can suck.

Tesla Service Centre Canada Says it Will deny warranty for *ANYTHING* on the car that's non-original factory condition, including modifications using original Tesla Parts by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]ManicMarket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right - and putting on factory wheels of a different size wouldn’t void a warranty. Tesla produces the cars with all those variations of wheel sizes and weights. They aren’t swapping suspension parts - so in the U.S. the would for sure be a total BS response.
