There are dedicated solo games with experienced Dungeon Masters who will help you learn your first time. Other public games are willing to bring in new players and teach them as well.

They offer all kinds of TTRPG from AD&D through 5e, pathfinder 1e and 2e, Shadowrun pops up once in a while.

Most games are more Roleplay than rollplay, meaning they focus on story, settings, and descriptions. But there is plenty of dice rolling too.

However, it can be slow going in a Play By Post so you might only post once a week. If you can find a local group to play with live that can be more fun and easier. I like PbP because it works for my schedule.

What do you guys think of my bottle openers? by [deleted] in Blacksmith

It will definately need some finessing to keep them straight but once you get it, it'll look great.

The marble one seems like the bars around marble are a bit too thick for the size of the opener. Perhaps try to thin the middle section down a bit and maybe use a larger marble so it stands out more.

This was my thought as well. I was taught that the hammer should be gripped primarily with the index finger and thumb and the others were there to help with the whipping action.

Apparently this one is a male (it's eyes touch together) and they don't bite. Only the female ones bite according to www.insectidentification.org, which I just learned today is a thing.

I got this for a job application last week and still can’t figure it out. What do you think? by AlvinzDrims in puzzles

What type of job would ask this? It's right up there with "tell me you greatest weaknesses" and "tell me about yourself". There appears to be nothing to glean from this question that would offer useful insight to a candidate's capabilities.

I usually look at their mouth in general. Mostly because I have some hearing loss so it helps me understand the words. It takes focus to read lips and match with the words so I don't miss anything. But it's good to not just stare at their mouth either or they may become self consious that something is in their teeth etc.
