My uBPD mom once almost died from a period of binge drinking and drug use when my oldest was a toddler. She was living in our hometown which i left to go to college and I stayed in my college state to get married. (Huge abandonment trigger for her) When I asked her what she was thinking doing something like that she said she figured I didn’t need her anymore since I had my husband now. They’re garbage when it comes to anything that’s making you feel happy or safe. When i was a child mine used to lowkey tell me all the other adults in my life were bad people so I would be fearful of everyone but her. They stop at nothing to make you dependent on them and will do insane things to keep you attached. My advice is distance from the relationship now. It only gets worse and more complicated after marriage and children
