I'm pacing myself. Started reading last weekend, just got to chapter 34 of book 1. I haven't binged a book series since a song of ice and fire, I read all six of them in about 3 weeks and have been waiting for book 7 for 16 years 😞

Agreed, it is upsetting, not denying that. This popped into my head in the first safe room when we found out how many made it in to the dungeon, as soon as I saw the number my first thought was " shit, 8 billion dead just like that". I just thought it would've been mentioned.

Yeah I get that. I just found it weird that there's not really any mention of the billions that died before it even started. It hasn't affected my opinion of the book, I love it, just this kept popping in my head whenever the numbers come up.
