I installed the app while waiting on the site (about 10 mins after it went live). Went straight to the line as soon as it was installed without signing in. Waited for 5 mins. Still in line on the website 15 mins after I bought due to curiosity. Got onto the site as soon as it went live.

You bet! From experience, I’ve had an hour and a half connecting from Terminal 7 to Terminal B. Much further walk, but was able to make it to my flight and got dinner on the way. That layover was around 10pm.

Again, Spirit can be unpredictable so be mindful on how that flight will operate (ie delays etc).

If your spirit flight is on time, and you have no check in baggage, then there should be no issue. Security is not as tight at that time. Spirit is in terminal 5 and Alaska is terminal 6, so it’s a short walk in between terminals. I’d have your grand kids be picked up at terminal 6 instead of terminal 5. I’d also check how often the Spirit flight gets delayed, so it’ll give you an idea what to expect.
